Emerson Shield 2006

Very well done to the Ballarat ladies for making the finals.

Go girls!
You all rock.

Too bad we couldn't make it

I would like to congratulate my team mates the Ballarat Ladies for making it into the state roll off in November.. You all bowled well.

For those teams bowling at Sale in two weeks, the lanes have just been recoated yesterday:p . Not having bowled on them yet i wont make any comment but was told that they are double oiling and once through the oil there is quite a big back end:rolleyes: . They may settle a bit more before the roll offs in two weeks.
We have senior shield roll off on Sunday which will be my first look since the recoat.

Grumpie You will get a sneak preview at Morwell on Friday night as they have also done theirs;)

Well the weekend is almost here and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the teams rolling off at Sale "Good Luck".

I guess I have to make sure that I wear my EFL supporters shirt and wear it well.

No doubt I will cop a bit of flack from some of the other teams but what the heck. If I'm going to accommodate part of the team then I should make sure they feel completely welcome........ :p

So -- no EFL in the men ??

and Sale Men got through with just 5 men in team?? - two Vacancy scores??

Yep, the home ground advantage - the great equalizer.

Last game EFL needed a 7 - 0 win over Sale to get through, and this looked very possible until the last frame, when Sale covered up a couple of points.

High Scoring was not happening much and the high team game was only 955 by Narre men, about 50pins more than any other team score.

Will post some stuff later in the day if I have time.
But well done to Morwell who got a clear advantage in the morning with the vacant score of 170, which was above the tournament average of the morning by between 2 and 10 pins.

But well done to our great team of Narre men, and women, looking forward to a more consistent condition, and shorter days in the final...

Well done to all the teams who qualified to bowl at Werribee.

Congratulations to all the teams that made it through to the final. The conditions were challenging and basically you just had to keep in mind that everybody was struggling. This was certainly a day for who ever was the toughest mentally!!

Although I did think about a comment that was made to me about the lost art of bowling the outside line and yes it did show it yesterday.

I guess a special mention has to go to the Sale men for just scraping over the line. It wil be interesting to see how they will handle Werribee.

As the token coach for EFL (thanks Karl for the lend of your shirt) I would like to congratulate the ladies for a great effort and special mention to Kristi who even managed to bowl a 200 game JUST FOR ME!! :D

As for the men, you put up a great fight in the last game and certainly made me bite a nail or two........

As for my house guests, well thanks for allowing me to part with my hard earned money in poker. I couldn't think of nicer people to give my money to.

It was a great day to watch and even greater to see some faces I haven't seen in a LONG time. I'm sorry that we had to disappear to go out to dinner just after your lunch break.

Hopefully you would have all arrived home by now safe and in one piece with lots and lots of stories to tell.............
