Emerson Shield 2006

Can anyone tell me if there is a specific rule in the Emerson rules for dealing with the bye?

I know last year at Melton we had an odd number of teams in the men and the bye was not bowled and the team was given 4 pts. Is this up to the host centre to decide or is it an Emerson rule?

Refer to Ray Hodge at Melton. He is the tournament director and will answer your questions in regards to any Goldpin Tournament including all the Zone Finals.

Interesting that you say that Gary. At Shepparton, at the roll off, we are bowling the bye and must beat a score to win a point.

That is interesting David. We were given a ruling by Ray Hodge - Tournament Director as to how the bye is supposed to be handled. The Emerson rules do not actually specify what is supposed to happen. I guess Centres can ask for a ruling (like we did) or do what they feel is best.

Either way it should not matter David - with Shepparton men not bowling zone final you should be a shoe in to go through. :)

I would have to say personally that the walk to the finals are in the bag for Sunraysia & Bendigo. The third spot up for grabs will be a good fight out from the other teams, but still reckon that Wodonga will be too strong against Echuca and Horsham. So thats my tips for the roll offs. Sunraysia, Bendigo and Wondga to go though to the finals. :)

Which ever way it goes - there will be at least one team in this years final at Werribee that has not been there before - which will be great for that centre.

Our zone is the opposite - we will have at least one team that will miss out. Four men's teams made it last year (Melton was defending winners) as well as Geelong, Werribee and Colac. Only three spots this year so at least one (maybe more if Ballarat or Warrnambool win through) will miss out :( I just hope it is not Colac.

Well well, you disappear for a few weeks and look what happens. Lots to catch up on!!

And our roll offs are this weekend!! Looking forward to catching up with everybody.

And while I'm here I will mention Kev's birthday was monday just gone, (and before you jump in Kev, your welcome).

So of course we are planning a few drinks and eats or a lot of drink and eats depends on how much you consume!! And watch out for the shepp boys as they don't have to bowl they will be on to get the rest of you drunk and hung over for the sunday morning session!! Be prepared!!

Safe travelling to all, especially to Mildura and Horsham who have the longest trips.

It's good to see that Kev is finally old enough to play in the Seniors.:) :) :) :D
I look forward to have a quiet one with him in celebration of his birthday. Suzie and I will help him out with the drinks. Kevs normally asleep by his 3rd can.

Yeah , its gonna be an early start on Sat morning. Will be searching for a beer Sat night for sure.

Welcome back Paige and Carmers -- long time no speak!

So Paige - are you in the Shep team this weekend? I don't think i have seen Sheps team for Emerson '06 posted on here anywhere.

Carmers - why so quiet - been busy? See you on the weekend.

Oh by the way Kev had wonderful 40th birthday and his coming out on the town saturday night!!!!!!!!! haha

Now if you ask Kev he says he is only 39, but nobody believes him!! I want to see his birth certificate!! Considering on my birthday alarm he put in his birthday as the 30th July and its actually the 31st of July, there is no way I am going to trust the fact he thinks he is only 39!! lmfao.

Gary my internet has been playing hookey for a while as well the fact I have been super busy!!

I am bowling on the weekend, as a couple of people had to pull out.

I must share with you all that Melissa is pregnant!! YAY!!

Congrats to Liss and Timmy on the bundle of joy coming their way!! Timmy is over the moon, but we are slightly concerned about having another Liss or Timmy jnr in Shepp!! Just kidding!! We are all ecstatic for the parents to be.

Ok so I will post our ladies team as our men aren't bowling:

Paige Williams
Sammy Murphy
Danni Jones
Kelly Jones
Denece Jones
Skye Kerr
Amanda Threlfall

I think thats right, there are a few changes so I'm not 100% sure. But that sounds good to me!!
