Teams have gone away with less than 7 and won Geelong men only had 6 in 2005 and that was at their home centre. They could not get 7 bowlers even when CCup was held on their home lanes
There has to be other factors why they cant get numbers (cost, travel, etc)

I think you will find there were other reasons why they only fielded 6 men in 2005 Woza. From memory it had something to do with a protest between 7th and 8th qualifiers - as a result it was decided that neither bowler would bowl and they would have a team of 6 (which effectively was 5 because one of the six only bowled 4/22 games).

Hard to fathom how a centre with so many bowlers can't get 7 women to a roll off.

got a couple of phone calls about this today, so i thought i'd throw the tools down from my job at the most modern bowling centre in geelong, to just set the record straight on the place that has seen better days

lets get this story straight

they had 7 players

8 protested that 7 had not complied with eligibility (which was true)
7 got ousted
8 got told he wasn't welcome
4 who was 8's brother pulled out on principal
9 opened his mouth on here and was not welcome
so they took 10th place

hence why i posted why i was curious to what criteria was used, cause out there, its not what you know, its who you blow, oops i meant know

Congrats to the others that made the LV team, especially when it ws SO bloody hard to score heaving the ball at 30+km!!!!!!!!
If anyone has a clue how to set up a silver bullet after some ***k**t mess's it all up please contact Morwell tenpins! You would think that after going for 3 months having the top 8 or so avg at your center over 200 and the top 3 over 210 you would have to be pretty happy with how things were going................... not here!
PLEASE someone help them out. I understand they may have the best intentions of replacing worn parts ect but why not admit you dont have a clue and get some help from someone who does!

lets get it straight I was the 7th bowler and I was told that I was allowed to trial when I apparently wasn't,everyone knew that I was in the trials before they went ahead. I qualified about 5th from memory then after qualifying bowler 8 was unhappy he didn't make it so he decided to protest my participation which by the rules set out saw me removed from the team no grudge held by me but at the time should have been handled differently. A protest prior to my bowling would have been enough for me to withdraw from the trials. I was refunded my money that I paid for the trials and that was the end of the story for me. What ensued after that I had no control over.
