Dam straight tiger!! dont tell me about 12's... i dont wanna change anything on the car until it runs a 12.9999999999999.
Just gotta wait for a little bit colder weather now. It's no fun hot lapping this time of year.
Biggest problem is my 3.46 diff gears, im hitting the rev limiter in 3rd at the top end of the track. 3.9's would see a 12 instantly.

I'm assuming your car has been edited, what is the rev limiter set to, how far before the end of the track is it hitting the limiter?

Your assuming correct.

The limiter has been only changed slightly from 6200rpm to 6500rpm. Its right on the line when its hitting it... ive tried short shifting and changing in to 4th and i still have the mph but lose out slightly on time....

Its all great fun. i really enjoy it... gets really addictive.

Your tuner may be able to lift the rev limit maybe another 100 rpm which may stop it hitting the limiter which might be enough to get your 12.999999, otherwise get some smaller diameter tyres which will give you the same effect as a ratio change, but I'm not sure what size street radials you are using and if they make a smaller diameter one.

:D

You all and your hunky big V8's....

V6's FTW! Currently got a stock (unfortunately) 2.5L 24V QuadCam KLDE. Running @ 121KW (flywheel) and does the 1/4 in mid 15's (slow yes but what do you expect from a Front WD?)
Searching for a KLZE (jap spec KLDE) which is significantly more powerful than the KLDE (164hp VS 200hp) and thankfully is a straight forward engine swap. Although need the ZE's ECU and the VAF from a Eunos 30x to get the most out of the ZE..

thats the problem with jap motors although they rev and go like crazy
it takes 26 letters of the alphabete to say what you have
just go back to CI
im sure if japs made a 360 hemi
it would of been called
C ircular
S haped
C ombustion
C hamber
E ngine
with approximatly 5900 millilitres of displacement

Not with an unopened motor.
If you don't like ford V8's that your choice :) and everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but a lot of holden people don't realise the power the boss motor makes and with less cubes than the LS1 and most think the fastest Boss is only 13 or 14 secs.
Your right about the power and the times of cars, you need to have the right convertor diff gears tyres etc etc to run good numbers
Oh yeah I know, most a manual LS1 unopened can pull is about 350rwhp.

Like I said, there is probably heaps of fast Boss V8's, but I'm yet to see one crack 12's.

12's are fairly easy to get then to now and even 11's have been done

:D

I like the XR6Ts and the Phoons, but I hate Ford's V8. Biggest clunkiest pieces of crap on the road.
They're slow and every XR8 and GT-P with exhaust sounds like a 6 Banger. LS1/2 for the win.
Oh and the new VE's aren't fat and ugly, but they certainly are different.

You think they are slow well lets race and see how you go

I have had botha VY II SS and now i havea ford xr8, build quality is so much better in the ford. Plus my 8 pulls alot harder through the rev range

that dont mean nothing dude
Eastern creek 5 laps lets see how much i win by haah

Too may variables in a circuit race, a 1/4 mile race is the best indication of comparing 2 different cars engine outputs and ability to accelerate :D

and by the way I did not make the challenge, I just think that both sides have people that have their own beleifs that their brand is quicker without even considering the opposition brand. Some of the LS1 boys are been surprissed on what a 5.4 Boss can do in a heavier car.

Ok, just a question for some to answer

What do you beleive the quickest a LS1 or LS2 has run with no internal mods to the motor and what do you think the Boss would run again with no internal mods to the motor, all naturally aspirated of course.

P.S. have a good Australia day :D

Yep.
Holden VE Commodore, Wheels Car of the Year.
Doesn't get any more convincing than that.
Pfft The Falcon did that 5 years ago. Then the territory. Can't understand why it took this long for Holden to release a car that can finally match the BA and BF Falcons.

According to the guys at fordforums.com, a stock BF GT-P will run mid to high 13's for a 5.4L 290kw V8.

According to HSV, the new VE GTS will run a mid to low 13 for a 6L 307kw V8.

unless someone proves it and shows video or pics, its all I have.

That's for stock cars, How many owners race them when they are stock?
Most people modify them and then race them.

What do you think they are capable of? no forced induction or nitrous just factory motors with the usual bolt ons and edits.

:D

well you asked about both with no internal mods, hence the stock times...

You can get an LS1/2 with heads and cam do under 11 secs

I dont know what it is for a ford, you might have to fill me in, but im guessing a low 11
