Tornaments in N.S.W

Was just wondering why there are more tornaments in qld and vic but hardly any in nsw?

Proprietors need to make money and Tournaments don't do that. Another reason is a lack of bowlers. Good to see Blacktown starting to get the ball rolling with the skyline Classic in feb 2007.

Christian makes a good point. It's all about how much the centre can rake in, if it was between having 6 hrs of parties or hosting a tournament.. i think the parties would take priority.
Good work with the sports series down in strikezone as well!

Re: Tournaments in N.S.W

It's sad but true that the most populous city in Australia has the weakest tournament scene. It never used to be the case, as there was a healthy Grand Prix circuit back offering mid priced tournaments in the days when bowling was promoted as a lifelong sport, as well as a kids birthday location.

Kudos to the Cow and the Chowns for making an effort to resurrect tournament bowling in and around Sydney. As bowlers, we need to do more for ourselves or at the very least support those willing to do it for us.

Speaking of which, I'll go and put my name down for Blacktown now.

just to let you know Bathurst Tenpin Bowl has put on skins tournments and has struggled to fill spots we where offering $1200 prize pool no 1 is willing to drive over the mountains but im hapy to say im bowling in the skyeline my self hope to see ya alll there.
we would love to put on a tournment for every 1
let us no what you would like and we will try to provide it. we are the only center in Australia to have the Authority22 and would like to give every 1 a chance to bowl on this fantastic condition
cheers Julie
