President Shield Winners

I love this stuff.. haha sheild is the best time in Juniors and it is good to see everyone getting stuck into each other :)

Macca, you have put alot of pressure on your team by saying
"5/7 of your guys bowled at strikezone week in and week out"

The way i read that if Southern is going to win they better win this year because they have been bowling there for weeks. I know i wouldnt like to be in that team if it loses because you have stated you have an advantage over the rest of the teams by a country mile so you should win easily....that is of course if your team is good enough ...as you claim it to be say it is :) j/k

I dont really know who will win but being a Central Boy i am hoping they can pull thru.

Good luck to everyone bowling..it is always an awesome tournment and being at Strikezone there are bound to be plenty of high scores ! :)

(please put on your best boxing ring announcers voice for this)

LETS GET READY TO RUMMMMBLE!!!!

Ladies and gentlemen.....
Introducing in the red corner...weighting at 825 pounds.......ACT/SOUTHERN New South WAAAAAAles
and in the blue corner wieghting at 850 pounds.....NSW CENTRALLLLL
Lets keep the gloves up boys and keep the punchs about the belt.
(you may now stop using the ring announcers voice)

Well well well.....This is what Sheild is all about.

There is always one member of a team that shoots his mouth and always one from another team that grabs the bait..... and the fact is girls.... it wont matter how much talk you put up.....no matter how many bowlers play at Strike zone week in week out, no matter how many games you have beat a team before....come NATIONALS only 3 days will matter.

ONLY THE BALLTE ROYALE of Sheild...where freinds are made and frineds are lost in the heat of battle. Where Hero's are born and the coward forgotten!

Then after nationals....and only then do you get the bragging rights.

As for which team will win???

Fact of the matter is the teams are so very even these days...(unlike 2000 where my Central team was clearly the strongest in the history of sheild) but i hope the team of Central come through.....for 2 reasons.....
1. i was in central
2. From what i hear they are the underdogs, and you never underestimate a underdog.

Jez said it and ill say it again "sheild is the best time in juniors"

Come Nationals...lets see the gloves off and see a fair fight.

Good luck to all the boys and girls that are playing this year....its truly the greatest event for JNRS in the world.

Booty call Belmo

No prices Belmo? Your slackin' off mate :p

After I saw your name as the last post I thought I was in for some betting but I guess not.

I think it's fairly safe to say even though the teams are even it's pretty much a two-horse race in each division. However, as each of these 4 teams are different that should make for some good overall standings

Best of luck to everyone, especially to Southern who will be hosting the event and this is a great feeling (go vic last year!), and above everything else Vics are the best!!

Cheers,
- Brett

Hi, lauren here...

Now i know im getting off the topic a bit here, but im not going to make a whole new topic to just say this...
Why is it that most of the places shield is held are so bloody small???????
I mean geez, its the biggest bowling event for under eighteens and look at last yr, it was in that pissy little bowling alley?? you disnt even have enough room to scratch your own arse in there... it was unbelievably cramped and the stands could just fit...
Im not bowling in shield this yr because of work priorities but i also bowl at xzone and am glad its finally in another centre with some room....
so, in summing up, wherever it is next yr, for the bowlers sake, can you have it in a centre bigger than a matchbox?

Thats my bitching done :)

lozz ;)

i may be new in australia, but no one has said anything about the northern territory..do they have a chance?

Im from Texas, I have just recently moved to Sydney, and i was just wondering what about the Northern Territory, and Tasmania? Why hasnt anyone said anything about them winning? arent they good?

Tassie girls team.

Emma Tubb (Capt)
Kara Bunting
Mel Collins
Stacey Dare
Kristi Lee Godfrey (Vic Draft)
Krystal King (SQ Draft)
Renee Milici (NQ Draft)

hI, Sarah_train - of course everyone has a chance - the tassies & NT 's are excellent bowlers as are all the people at shield. Some teams just have a lot of people who make a lot of claims - but time will tell!!! there are still 8 weeks to go & lots of time for coaching & team building - And this year a lot of people might be in for a BIG surprise - I hope so! Go the underdogs!!!
See you all there!!

Nerdy said:
 the Victorians are the best and are going to win no matter what

yes you keep telling yourself that, GO ETHIOPIA!!!!

actually as i said before, ACT/Southern will win...

But anywho, GO WA!!

howdy
my views on shield this yr go sumtin like this

in the ladies division id have to say it will be a 2 horse race btween the vic chicks and the girls from sq. both teams have a huge line up. the others states will have to pick it up against these teams

in the fellas its gonna be a close one this yr. being from central of course im hoping we can take it out but act and southern have a very strong team lead by cow and reynolds. sq also have a strong team along with sa and vic. so its gonna be a close one this yr but id have to say that southern will be the team to beat especially coz they have a home advantage.

anywho thats all from me

belmo,
those nsw boys are skinny pricks.
us sq boys weigh in at 1575 pounds, and this is the deepest sq team we have had since the late 90's when we were winning everthing. the girls will flog everyone out there with the team we have in that. but it will be the boys that will win the shield for us. simon will peak just before, matty j is up there right about now with his recent win at state masters, and the rest of the boys are just rock solid, as for myself i am just finding how to hit it again and more consistent than down at bankstown a few years back. up here is the place to watch, none of this nsw shit, the only thing u guys are good at is rugby league, so u better watch out for SQ.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SQ

And you think us NSW people are talking it up! To quote Tarantino from Resovior Dogs
'You gonna bark all day, little doggie, or are you gonna bite?'
Cos, all you are doing right now is barking. Southern has already bitten into the NSW teams by claiming the boys Challenge shield. Hope you grow up from being a puppy to a full grown dog in time, cos we sure aint waiting around for ya.

Later Da Cowman!

i cant see how a different tourny to shield has anything to do with shield people perform on different days... haha and just because sq wasnt down there dun mean there not going to bite hard.. so look out;).. oh go TASSIE!
