New bowling association???

H

Hairy_Pothead

I received an email the other day about this new sporting association called Syndicate 52. I spoke to a couple of other bowling friends who also received the information. It seems the email originated from a former member of TBA, which makes me wonder where this person got my email address and others from?

Who else got this email, and what do you think of this new association?

I don't know about you guys, but from what i can see it looks a lot like a scam.

I have always looked out for unbelievable prices for little money.

Then again, it does sound good.

I would like to know a bit more b4 i paid out my $52.

I received the email as well..In fact I got it Twice!

I believe Frank is still invoved with National Awards (sic!)..who supply the TBA with chevrons, rings, etc. Come to think of it, I believe this company is owned by our illustrious leader June Voukolos. I'm not privy to the hows and whys of her purchasing the awards company ..but it doesn't look good to me no matter how you slice it..
June, if you'd like to give us all an explanation please do!
If this isn't a conflict of interest, then what is?

I hereby call for the resignation of June Voukolos as chairperson of the TBAL
I also hereby call for the immediate suspension of frank Kosztan for misuse of private information.

Wayne Chester

Thanks for the link bowlrig,
Will this be a nude calendar, Frank ?
Will registered leagues get one free ?
Will we see the Board members members ?
Will National awards create a new patch for the biggest and the best or just the highest ?
Can TBAQ have the film rights ?
Is that website just a wind up or do you really expect us to take you seriously ?

TO THE ILL INFOMRED

Well, once again this website has brought some of the most ill informed members of our community to the surface to make comments about something they really know nothing about.

Not only do you chose to attack me by stating that I have used TBA email addresses, you also choose to attack my daughter.

To Sean M. from the Gold Coast, if you are such as brave person, please provide me with your home address and I will provide you with the appropriate information personally.

Andrew Shinnie, whilst you may also like to make snide remarks, why don’t you take the time to find out about the facts when you saw me today? Stop playing around Andrew.

To Wayne Chester. You are the pick of the bunch! Let me tell you how to obtain email addresses. Firstly, go to the top of the Totalbowling forum page and select “Memberlist” Now you can select anyone of the members listed and when you do, your email program will open up. From here it is a simple process of adding the email to your address book. Maybe you should advise the moderators of this site to fix this so it can’t happen.

I don’t bother to make too many comments on this site and this is an example as to why I don’t. Wayne, you need to get a life instead of trying to put crap on people on things you have no idea of.

As for those of you who are genuinely interested in seeing our sport move ahead, please go to the Syndicate 52 website . Everything is here in plain English for you to read and above all, remember; it is you choice if you want to join. No one is forcing you.

Frank

Frank,

So you are stating you in fact used the email addresses from this website, without first consulting a member of the Totalbowling team (Graham Williams or Dave Hutchinson)? I would find that as a breach of copyright as that email list is a property of Totalbowling, and not one you can personally advertise business of your own affairs.

Frank, are you also stating that you DID NOT use email addresses from the TBA e-groups list?

Frank, like I said I wouldn't trust it. So I am not interested in it. So there is no need for me to give you my address. But by the sounds of it you wouldn't find it hard to find out anyway.

By the way your daughter knows how to attack & stir shit about everything else so it was just stated as my opinion. (of coarse)

Get it right

It is good to see that some people are interested in reading what I have said. Cameron, whilst you are the moderator on this site, you of all people have to realise that anyone can email your forum members. If you claim to have a copyright on email address, then I would suggest that you read up on the copyright laws. If you are still concerned, then maybe you should remove this facility.
Jan Morton. As for your comment Jan. No, I did use the email addresses from the Yahoo group. Both you and Cameron know only too well how people can obtain email addresses.
And for Sean M. yes you can speak your mind, but you need to becareful what you say. PLease take up my offer.
PS Cameron. Contact Graham and get him to read his email.

Frank..Thanks for telling me what I don't know. I really appreciate it when someone fills me in on the truth.
How about telling me what I DO know..which is, ...what you emailed me is a bunch of crap. Do you stand to gain anything from the system52 scheme or were you just forwarding it on "for the good of the sport of bowling"

It's my opinion that YOU need to go!
ps..Please cease and desist immediately from emailing me without my prior consent!

Frank,

You are correct, anyone can definately email forum members from this website, but not for the purpose of advertising a business that involves *PAYING* for a service.

You knowingly used email addresses from this website to gain *FINANCIAL* benefit for you and the companies you are involved with. Do you understand that this is called SPAM. Do you also understand that you can get your domain blacklisted on the internet because of SPAM. Considering I'm a network engineer for an extremely large Australian ISP, it would not take me very long to get this done, so dont try and explain that what you have done is warranted and justified.

Frank

Cameron is no longer a moderator on this site and has not been for several months. I am, along with Dave Hutchison, are the only moderators. Dave hardly reads the site, therefore leaving me as the ONLY moderator. BFCC has his Sports Series forum for his hard work, and Wayne Chester volunteers to post Industry Vacancies in the Positions Vacant forum, hence his moderator status there. THERE ARE NO OTHERS. Please get your facts correct.

I don't agree with all that has been written .. I will say this : to use TotalBowling and this forum for your own money making schemes, even to harvest email addresses, is unethical to say the least.

I am very disappointed right now that somebody would go to the trouble and take advantage of this site. This site is a privilige for everyone. Sure, the email addresses are available there fr everyone to access. And I took it that NO ONE WOULD TRY AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS SITE. Obviously I was wrong. I may review the situation on this site, making it so that only registered members may read the posts. And part of the terms and conditions being that you may not use any information for your own Personal (or in this case) Business gain. As is always the way, it only takes one idiot to wreck it for everybody.

If it is no big deal in using the email addresses, why not contact me directly and ask me ? THE ANSWER : I WOULD NOT GIVE THEM OUT because I have some ethics.

In regards to this forum being "open slander", all of these posters have followed the forum rules. It is an open forum, and they have all put their names to their posts. Most of the posts here are merely raising a question - a question I admit I was asking myself : where were the email addresses gained from? To find out that the "harvesting" of email addresses was much closer to home disappoints me.

I have removed your priviledges of posting on this site until I have a chance to further investigate this.

Frank NOT INTERESTED!!!!! Comprehenda!!
Sounds like a scam probably to cover money sent in for awards that you have probably already spent. How are those awards going anyway. I'm sure everyone would just like an answer. Is it too much to ask?

All right Frank no more snide remarks from me, just a few questions.

(And incidentally when I saw you today I was only aware of 2 posts on the subject and had not seen your web site at that stage. I didn't know you were involved until I got home and saw the next few posts).

Anyway firstly Frank, who is involved apart from yourself ?
Where is the seed capital coming from ?
What is the involvement of the board of TBA ?
Have any of the Directors of TBA actually seen a development plan for this scheme ?
Who will operate the bank account/s ?
What re-assurances can you give that TBA monies will not be channelled into this scheme ?
Have other major players ie AMF or Goldpin been either consulted or informed ?
Regards for now, Andrew Shinnie
PS You might like to reword your Gender Definition. You have muscular. I think you meant to put masculine. Makes for fascinating reading.

I copied this from the link for syndicate52 website. Obviously a company in which Frank is a director.

"If you are interested in becoming a reseller of Syndicate 52 Membership in your area,.Please Send your Personal Details and Brief Resume to

SYNDICATE 52
PO BOX 1551
BEENLEIGH QLD 4207

or alternately you can email them to

frank.kosztan@syndicate52.com
or
barry.davies@syndicate52.com

"Position open to Australian Residents Only and applicants must be at least 18 years of age and over"

From what I have read, this is one big lottery draw! Everyone (sports affiliated or not) pays $52 a year for the 1 in 50,000 chance of winning some cash! The website lacks information as directors, company info etc. I still don't understand how sporting organisations make money from this venture?? If you want to coff up with $52 you can go into the draw, whoopy doo! Even if one of the members in a sporting organisation wins, they sporting association gets no gain from the win.

For the website to offer the ability to re-sell the product in question (namely raffle tickets), there must be some profit making or commission scheme in place which undoublty would result in the company directors making a financial gain!!

This means in sumary that Frank as a director stands to make money out of this product and has pro-actively used the bowling community on this site and other email groups to target as potential customers. As with any product, more sales, more members, more money made!

I totally disagree with what Frank has done and won't be joining!

prise money

not bad the way i worked it out with all prise money givin away, someone is still making a $1,000000 dollars profit based on 50,000 members, not bad if it works.Wish id thought of the scam. :D :D :D :D lol
ps. prise money is approx. 1.5million$ based on 50,000. it also doent specify which sports acc. the money is going to.

Sometimes we all jump to conclusions when we don't know all the facts. Sometimes people get jealous when someone else thinks of a great idea.

Syndicate 52 has the potential to be a big money spinner for sports. Barry Davies came up with a great idea which if the average joe or joan Blow had a go at they might win some big dollars, cars etc.

Interestingly(don't worry it surprised me to) the profits did not go back to the directors, but to sport which hopefully Tenpin bowling would get a large share.

TBA has not supported the sydicate 52 venture in ANY way other then wishing them the best of luck. The board of TBA is not involved in this venture. Frank is not employed by TBA.

Anyone who has been the Nationals would have met the photographer guy. He might have never said much, but he got the vibes from many of the bowlers over the years that they were sick and tired of forking their own money out to play Rachuig and De Veer. He came up with a 'lottery idea' that could inject enough funds into bowling that nobody would have to pay again. Sydicate 52 is it's name.

I'll be buying a ticket just on the somehow notion that they pull it off. Call me stupid, I've been called worse.

By the way Frank, you were bloody stupid, should have paid some money to Graham and advertised on the site. Mind you but my latest marketing book says grab every email address you can from any source possible......where do you think 'add 3 more inches in a week" get your email address from?
You have never had much tact Frank and it showed again here..........but bloody hell the old adage of "any advertising is good advertising" is working here for sydicate 52.

Good luck to buyers and sellers
