Who do u reckon will win?
Im not really sure but i reckon melborune might have a chance.

Freo to step up and finally start proving they are worth something.
It'll all depend on how they can play away from Perth, but they've got a good list, and seem to handle the travel a lot better in recent years.

I think they'll face the Crows in the GF.

The commentator in the Freo v WCE game had the comment of the year... or even the comment of the century.

Benny Cousins gets the ball and is trying to shake off Matthew Carr of Freo - the commentator chimes in with

"Cousins... running away from Carr" (then silence) "He seems to be getting better at that!" (more silence)

Thats an absolute crack-up!!

What a sad performance from the pies!!!!
Thought they may have a chance after last week but i suppose if you leave out most of your mid field to protect them from what i'm not sure you cant expect to win a game!!!
should be used to losing!!!

How do injuries and 40 degree heat sound?

Proof of that was in the Cats v Roos game in Cairns. Sent all our youngsters into play (just to prove to the competition that we actually have good ones coming through).
Cats just overran us in the last quarter but Kingsley looks to have tweaked a hammy. (The price you pay for playing experience in a game where the young opposition are giving you a run for your money!!)

The same would apply to all sane clubs thinking about the real season. Haven't seen the lists who played last night, but were both undermanned? A Freo side would belt a Collingwood side without a midfield.

Roll on Round 1 I say....

its scary that im watching the last 10 minutes (only period i had time to watch) and i could barely name half our side!

its great to give the youngins a run when there is nothing at stake!

Should try and watch the replay's on Fox Footy... Jesse Smith was brilliant! Playing a role much similar to David King.. Should be a starter come round 1.

We were so close at 3qtr time against a team predicted to make top 4 who had less players out then we did (and had a midfield!) - but their experience got them over the line. Will be interesting to see how we go against them in round 2!!

GO ROOS!

I was happy with the pies performance, we had arguably our best and most important 3 players out (bucks, clement, pebbles) plus Mr. Reliable Scott Burns, a very underdone dids, Brodie who barely touched it, Licca who got hurt, Richards who looks out of his depth at the moment (Fanning would be better) and Tarks playing on Farmer when I'm not convinced he's a tagger or defensive player (Clement would have kept farmer to 2 at best). Freo had near full strength (add Bell and maybe Polak), in conditions they prefer on their home ground....jeez I cant be disappointed with the boys.

In the positives, Fraser, Davis, Taz, Dale Thomas looks a player as does Stanley, Sam iles did some nice things but Brent Hall has to go. Jason Clokes improved form (he always had commitment), it makes me look forward to this year.

Depends if you play 3 loose players across half back line again. If you do it will be nice and close again. If you play man on man you'll probably get smashed. :p (PS if you can't tell - i support Geelong). I don't think you can take too much notice of this pre season rubbish - after all look at how last years winners (Carlton) went when the real stuff started (Last!)

Injuries??? Who is injured??? And these guys are professional athletes arent they?? 40 degree heat will take alot out of you but they also have 6 on the bench. I would like most of the top players have a bit of match practice before the season starts.... you cant wait untill the 3rd of 4th round before they start to play at their peak as that could be too late..
I want something to get excited about -- after a year of many injuries to top players it would be good to see some wins under their belt.

NAB cup doesnt matter, I'd rather see the veteran mids saved for the season proper

Good player management
