GREATEST australian bowler

hate to say joelsback but matty hasnt shot 898 in centre league, I haven't missed a week this yr and i would have known about it straight away being one of matts good friends, i think you got your wires a lil mixed up

The point that stuck out to me was that there is only a handful of bowlers in OZ that have bowled 2 300's in the same day, let alone in the same series, and Matt ain't one of them!

LOL

898 can be achieved with only one 300.

Later Da Cowman!

Let me rephrase it then for the observant one.

The point that stuck out to me was that there is only a handful of bowlers in OZ that have bowled 2 HONOUR SCORES in the same day, let alone in the same series, and Matt ain't one of them!

I've heard it all now.

There has only ever been one sanctioned 800 bowled at Moonah. By Norm Green in 1996 I think.

The highest series shot in the last 5 years at Moonah I beleive is 787 by some unknown gumby :)

matt cramound bowled a 898 in centre league here is tasmania last year.

898 in Centre League
Geeez I must've been totally munted that night, I can't remember much about shooting that
I've never ever shot 800 in real bowling.
Although I did shot 811 once in the Inner-City Skittles Championship we held in the loungeroom at Strahan Street once back in the 80's
I got a domino strike off the back of the book cabinet to crack the 800...hehehehe
Highest I got to in Centre was 746.

Norm Green was the only 800 man at Moonah, and I'm nowhere near good enough to shoot one.

898 for Matty Crammond .... I think not .... there is just no way he would carry well enough even if he did smack the pocket every shot .... even Matty would tell you he would more than likely have a 5-7-10 in there somewhere ......

There wouldn't have been many in the state to have even cracked 800 I wouldn't have thought.

Ash would have
Matty Riley probably
Matt Burtt most likely
Norm as mentioned
Gus??? Not sure
Garry??? Not sure
Paul Lucock ... maybe??
Bruv .... probably

That would be the list at it's maximum I reckon???? I certainly don't make it ..... 783 is my best.

LOL - Yes or an 8-10, or 5-7, or 5-8-10 occasionally, been nearly two years since I left a tree - mind you I haven't bowled for half the year so that helps.
On 800's here, Matty Riley - Yes, Ashley Riley - Yes, Garry Crick - Yes, Norm Green - Yes.
Paul Lucock hasn't, and I doubt Gus has, nor Matty Burtt. As for Bruv - couldn't tell ya.

PS: How's the lawn bowls coming along now? :)

Hi all, my highest in league in Launceston is around 815/3 (if u are able to count the last 3 games in a 4 game league??) if not its 774/3, shot 844/3 at brunswick cup in 2001

Well the funny thing is i have only ever bowled 800 once in tasmania and that was in burnie 267,298,279 (844) that was years ago 1999 i think, but since then i have had 5 to date with 846 being my highest i league

i am 95% sure matty burtt shot 800 while competing in the sydney junior cup in 92 at rockdale, or as it was known blockdale that was the year he one

cheers boys
Matty Riley

i think every one has forgotten about one person this person is my number 1 in his day

gary jeffreys
ian bradford
fred alsop
brenton davey
tony stopple

I would have to say that my favourite female bowler to watch of all time would have to be Barbara Richmond from QLD. What a bowler!
Jeff.

I think people are forgeting someone, Paul Longaroo, i dont no how to spell his last name, by the age of 19 he had been invited to play in with the pro's, unfortenutly abit after that he got injured and just bowls socially now, he had one of the best styles i have ever seen!!!! given the chance that boy could of been great, i just thought he deserved reconition. cheers.

George Frillingos

i think george is da best at da moment hes doin very well

ya paul longaroo(escuse the spelling) i saw him on tv in 2000 one the single lane coca cloa thing and when i watched himk bowl he was super smooth very clean release and a awsome shot it is sad that he unfortunatly hurt himself but if he didn't there is no doubt in my mind that he would ahve been the greatest bowler ausatralia has produced.

To all of those that are interested.

I don't know exactly but I think that pauls last name is spelt "LONGARAUX". :? :?

I know it starts with an L and ends in an X. If that is wrong too then OOPS!! 8) 8), sorry for leading you astray. I know though that the spelling is more correct than that used above.

THANKS

SNEEZY

hey
just to clear up on the spelling. ya left out the y in longayroux but still close enough.
paul was a great bowler and still is. shot an 800 series this year at village filling in and think hes only bowled a handfew of games for the year. so hes still got it.
