I like Jase have sat back the last couple of days reading the posts on Total Bowling. It is good to see that the Tenpin Events website has created so much discussion – why else would we have such a great forum like on Total Bowling.
I have decided to answer some of the questions that have been raised through this site.
Firstly, Tenpin Events IS NOT here to work in opposition with Total Bowling, however it IS HERE to enhance the Total Bowling website.
Secondly, unlike the Total Bowling website, we have decided not to take funding from proprietors as we will be staying ‘neutral’. This is a website for ALL Tournament Directors, Associations, Clubs, Groups and Proprietors to market their events to US as bowlers.
Thirdly, this website was started purely from a marketing prospective. As you can see there are a lot of tournaments out there – bringing them all together into one website allows us all to see when tournaments are on.
Whatever the perception is on Total Bowling of us ‘taking over’ Total Bowling, or ‘duplicating’ Total Bowling, or even having a forum such as this one, is just not correct in anyway. Jase and his team run an awesome site here, and we will work to compliment each other.
To answer some of Jason’s questions…
Bowlers details as per the privacy act are kept confidential – however, if you are entering a tournament through the website, of course your details are sent through to the Tournament Director to enter that tournament – the same as completing a manual registration of a tournament.
With regards to favoritism and squad listings we have absolutely no control over that. When a bowler enters a tournament the information is IMMEDIATELY emailed through to the Tournament Director. We have absolutely no intervention in this process, registrations automatically get emailed.
Besides being an events website….
It is the intention of tenpin events to be involved in the development and marketing of significant tournaments and related events. When rolled out in due course it will become obvious to all the intentions of this company to be pro-active in the growth of the bowling industry.
Finally at the end of the day we are not forcing anyone to use our website. Like the Total Bowling website – or any other website on the internet - we all have a choice to look at it, and/or use it. Tenpin Events is here to assist bowlers find tournaments, and for Tournament Directors to market their tournaments.
