What would happen...

Can anyone tell me what would or should happen if in a MAJOR TOURNAMNET like; let’s use the SPC as an example…The scores PUBLISHED were incorrect and the EVENT was already paid out and presented…;)

In the times of Jesus..they will be stoned to death mate :p
In mordern days, they have to pay back out of their pockets.
Ouch that gotta hurt big time...their ego i mean ;)

Surely with the person in charge of major events, (like lets say SPC,) absolutely nothing could ever go wrong... EVER!

Quick, our friends the boys in blue will fix this problem pretty quick smart.

Move along people, nothing to see here....

Looking at Jase's scores, and looking at Tenpin.org.au and the brought forward pinfall figures are way out....

Holy crap...

That would be TotalBowling ...I tried to bring this to the attention of the people behind the counter, (as Brett the tournament dirctor was busy) after only 4 Games of the Men’s Match Play…NO ONE seemed to be that interested so I then asked for a Print out of the scores for the 18 Games men’s Qualifying to double check MY scores to see if I was incorrect…The response I got was that THEY WERE TO BUSY DOING SCORES to print me a sheet…So rather than publish incorrect scores the rest of the afternoon I decided to pack up my lap top and go and watch the match play…

The B/F (Pinfall Carry over) is incorrect…This will happen when you use bits and pieces of other score sheets and not 1 score sheet for the whole event…

The top 4 bowlers remain the same but a few others shift around…

I agree with the scores you have posted. They are what I worked them out to be this morning when I noticed the error. I couldn't understand how my average was higher than I expected it to be!!!!

The scores on the TBA (www.tenpin.org.au) site have been changed to reflect the B/F error.
I usually do not check the Excel spreadsheets that is emailled to me by the Tournament Director of an event but will in future.
Thanks Jase for seeing the error.
The TBA ranking points cannot be posted until AMF confirms the amended results.

PS Visted Graceland today!!!!

Yes thats correct Jase i just checked the score sheet i had after 18 games and there B/F total is different. But as Ian has said the TBA website has been changed. So it's good to see someone is paying attention. I wonder what Brett's reply will be.

Back to the question, the error must be corrected - therefore the tournament must pay out the higher valued prizefunds to those shifting up... Whether or not they can manage to recoup that expense from the now "overpaid" finishers - well there's a lot of reputation to be destroyed doing things like that isn't there...

having a look at your scores Jase & the scores posted in the Forum, it appears the B/F pins were sorted incorrectly at some stage. All the B/F pins match up, just not to the same bowlers.

Good pick up Jase, had wondered why the score had stopped being updated.

In relation to the payout, surely those that have been underpayed should be sent a cheque to make up the correct prizemoney for there finishing position, and the ones who were announced to have finished in those positions should get to keep the extra funds.

So what happens to the prizemoney that have been awarded for wrongful positions?
Pay back $10 a week like how they do with centre link Drooo :D
On a serious note, thank god it didn't happen during the qualifying. Imagine the disaster !

The bowlers have probably already cashed their cheques first thing this morning. Whoever was responsible should pay up those who were short changed. I understand people make mistakes but this is Australia's premier tournament. Scores should be checked then re-checked. These careless mistakes shouldn't have happened.

The only other thing to consider that if the scores are wrong after the 18games qualifying does that then mean the draw was wrong for matchplay or were they ranked correctly going in?

From my calculations and cross checking…They were all ranked in the correct order going into Match Play…The mix up only came after game 3 of Match Play…
