Virtual Bowling - Is the future of AMF?

Hypercell = Hyperhook!
Certainly right up their alley

For the first time in Canada, 'tweens', teens and adults can go Space Bowling, toss bowling balls through the Tomato Factory and take aim at Target Challenge™. That's because Virtual Bowling by Brunswick is the feature attraction at Canadian theater giant Cineplex Entertainment's new XSCAPE entertainment center at SilverCity Newmarket Cinemas.

Virtual Bowling is designed to help build traffic and revenues by attracting today's video game generation and anyone who enjoys the great fun of bowling. Unlike traditional home electronics games, Virtual Bowling blends real bowling with the thrill and variety of video gaming.

Complete with realistic sounds, bowlers roll either a miniature or standard bowling ball down a shortened lane, where sensors detect the speed and direction of the ball as it enters the virtual world. Players can choose from a five or 10-frame game in their choice of five fun-filled bowling themes, or they can play "Target Challenge", the most modern version of traditional "Skee-Ball" style games.

In addition to Virtual Bowling, XSCAPE, a 10,000-square-foot entertainment center at 18151 Yonge Street in Newmarket, Ontario, is loaded with more than 80 of the latest video and interactive games, including "Guitar Hero On-Stage," "The NFL 2-Minute Drill" and "Deal or No Deal."

A full-service licensed lounge and 13 theater screens complete the scene, providing a wide-range of entertainment options all under one roof. Visitors won't go home empty handed if they head to XSCAPE's redemption center to exchange tickets earned from the games for a wide variety of prizes.

Special event party suites at XSCAPE cater to groups as small as 25 guests or the entire facility can be rented for corporate events up to 500 people.

George you have quoted a publicity piece for this product that has been around for years - and has been extremely slow to make any sort of impact - anywhere. There is one very good reason why this is so - and you don't need me to tell you what it is.
