At least so far as I can prove, John "Guppy" Troup was the first non US citizen to win a PBA Title. The winner of the first ever PBA tournament was "Wrongfoot" Lou Campi who learned his unorthodox style from playing Bocce, back in his birthplace, Italy. There is no documentation as to whether Lou was still an Italian Citizen or had taken on US citizenship at the time of his PBA accomplishment.
