Tenpin Tails Syndicate

For those people that ask me last night how she was and how badly she got injured, I now have some answers. She has a little bit of brusing and a bit of soarness in her left side where she got pushed into the railing twice and fortunatly no serious injuries and should be fit to run next Friday at Traralgon.
She will be going for a vet check before running just to make sure.
Just for the record she did finish 8th(only just out of 7th) for the first time ever and hopefully the last time:p .
Lets all hope for better things next Friday;) the opposite end of the field would be great:) .

Strike Alot is running at Traralgon in race 10 box 6, yes it's back to those boxes again but she seems to be performing allright from these boxes and not so from the good boxes;) . The field in her race doesn't seem to be much but as everyone knows everytime i say something the opposite happens so lets just wait and see:eggface: :-k :scatter:

I thought I would be No1 Sandbagger after last nights effort. I told Mr Lacey I would save my games for when our team bowls his.;)
Now I know the real story behind the sandbagging - you were not saving yourself for Mr Lacey - you were trying to get a handicap for this Friday when you play us:D

Woza
One of our team members is away this week so we are bringing in another sandbagger to fill in this week. Daryl Ogilvie away thi new bowler is....[-X
You will just have to wait and see.\\:D/ 8-[

Well finally she broke through for us and yes liz did get a bit excited as some of you would have heard on the radio or tv.
As for favourite for the race it supprised us but someone out there must have had a very large bet on her. With one minute to go before start time she was showing $6.50 the win then came into $3.70 then $3.30.I estamate that somebody placed at leased a $3000 bet for her to win at this time.
I told Liz to put the house on her last night she was feeling that good but as per usual Liz doesn't lissen to me;) . So we just had our usual litte bet on her.

What a great bitch you have there Gunther (Strike Alot not Liz)......

Ralph rang me very excitedly from his mobile phone in the car (he was pulled over to the side of the road of course, not driving..) and was gabbling something that I couldn't understand. I finally made out the words "Strike Alot won, I just listened to the race on the radio!!!!"

He was so excited and I was too. We were just spewing that we didn't have a bet on....

Anyway - what I really put a post on for was to ask??

When is she racing next????

Thanks Jane - just as well I know you ! ;)

It's good to see that some of you are sharing the ups and downs of owning out little dog. The whole idea behind starting this post was hopefully for some others to have a bit of fun, and not the betting side of it. We have had a few people join us at various times at a track or two and it has been a lot of fun just getting together for a meal and drinks or just even a chat and watch the dog run. I knew absolutely nothing about greyhounds before deciding to buy a dog and let me tell you, I have enjoyed almost every minute of it. So much so, that we now even have a greyhound as a pet. King is the most loveable, well behaved (most of the time) and gentle dog that you could find. If you want a dog that really really loves you unconditionally, then a greyhound is the way to go.

Anyway, I am typing this as my voice is still some what croaky. I spent a lot of time apologising to people on the balcony at Traralgon who had their finger in their ears and giving me strange looks. God bless tenpin bowling for teaching me how to yell and scream. :eek:nfire:

After a dog wins once at Traralgon, they become a free for all. Which means that they basically run in an open grade. This seems a bit unfair as at other tracks they can win a couple of races before going from a Grade 5 to a Grade 4. As she is a small dog and will never have the capabilities to be a great racing dog, to have her run in the free for all at Traralgon would be very unfair on her. So the plan at this stage is to take her back to Sale but over the 520 metres and not the 440. She appears to be fit enough now to cope with the distance. We will know by the end of Wednesday if she was successful in getting a start on this coming Sunday. At this stage not only would I not bet the house on her but I wouldn't even consider our lawn mower !!

I guess we now have to wait for Wednesday.

Untill then,

Liz

Yes Race 5 at 6:45PM and wearing those dam Collingwood colours again !!:bad-word: :bad-word:

I don't like the inside draw for her but I know the other syndicate members will disagree probably. It will be an interesting race as only 2 dogs have won over this distance previously and 5 of the dogs will be racing over this distance for the first time. Who will win the race

I definitely won't consider betting the house this week........

Liz

Think i'll try and find $10 it is a dog race after all:confused:

Gary................................................

Ps. I hate Collingwood too;)

As all of you have seen she is racing Sunday at Sale but the news is she is of to the big smoke on Wednesday. Yes thats right Srtike Alot is racing at Sandown on Wednesday race 11 no 1, over the 515mtr, we even drew the red box:eek:nfire: :eek:nfire: :p :D
This is an afternoon meeting, we will be there and maybe see some of you there too and have some fun!!!!
