State Of Origin

Queensland had their fair share of help from the ref as well. 2 penalties right in front of the posts, for what exactly?

It was actually 4 penalties right in front. The only one that deserved a penalty was Barrett's cheap shot. When was the last time a team in any SOO or NRL match recieved any more than 2 penalties right in front?

Benefit of the doubt should always go to the defending team, not the attacking team. It's one of the silliest rules in the game. If Slater gets the slightest brush of hand or fingertip on the ball, it's a knock on. How could someone so skilled in the game completely miss a pass like that? Knock on for mine.

If you have ever read the rule book, you'll find that Matt King's pass is accepted under the laws of the game. It was initially propelled backwards, and momentum has carried it forward. I've seen plenty of Broncos tries where this has happened and not been called forward.

And get rid of Kimmorley. He's useless. Just goes to show that SOO football is harder than Test Matches, and he's not up to it.

Really when you look at it, qld got the better side of the ref in the first half and nsw got the better side of the ref in the 2nd, so it evened up, hence going to golden point. Therefore ending anymore disscussion.

LOL i bet if one of the nsw boys had a situation that slater was in they would be saying it wasnt a knock on and if nsw had of won you's wouldnt be so bitter... it was a good match and because of spare of the moment thinking qld got the try... and Johns should be playing ALF anyway.. all i see him do last year was kick field goals....

Ok I am about as hardcore Queensland supporter as they come but I am also a huge Andrew Johns fan. And I would just like to bring it to your attention that Andrew Johns was out for the majority of last season with the knee injury, in fact he only played 3 games for Newcastle and did not kick a single field game in any of those 3 games. You can check this stat out for yourself at http://www.newcastleknights.com.au/scoreboard/playerstats2004.asp

No one disses my Joey! :p

well mr thunderpants benefit of the doubt should of been given to Rooney

Well Mr Tool, if it was obvious why wasn't the try given?

Prob felt sorry for a losing coach who hasnt won a game all year..lol

the last place you could see the ball when rooney went close was about 30-40cm infornt of the line. and he didnt move forward after the ball dissapeared. it was pretty obvious that it was not a try. as for tye williams' try from billy slater you couldnt really tell. it was 50-50 and the benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking side when the video ref looks at it.

when rooney went close the video ref said "refs call" and there was too much doubt surrounding the decision to call a try.

the better side won, but only just. cant wait for game 2 and 3.

Joey is a has been and way past his best. Expect Kimmorley to be there for game 2.

Totally agree. Johns is a broken down has-been. Gower, Orford, and Sherwin are all ahead of him in my opinion. The powers that be though, still think that the sun shines out of his ass.

Kimmorley will most likely get another go. The selectors love fairy tales, so they'll give him the chance to redeem himself. I'm hoping that his first game performance was only a 1-off, because if he screws up again, I'm going to jail because I'm going to burn down his house :D

NSW needs an enforcer in the forward pack as well. Ryles has lost all his aggression, so someone like a Morrison or O'Donnell would go down well. I never though I'd say this as I can't stand him, but we really missed Willie Mason.

QLD is so girly!!! The QLD team and their bloody field goal - what a bunch of pansies!!! Blues are gonna SLAUGHTER them next game!!!

All I can say is...BRING IT ON!!!

stacey, what state do u live in??

YOU TRAITOR

why dont u start cheering for a real team like QLD!

It's disappointing that so many people living up here in Queensland support New South Wales. I mean, it's ok if you were born there as that is the true definition of State of ORIGIN but for all you born and bred Queenslanders supporting New South Wales.. [-X What's the deal? Is it 'cool' to be a bit different? Or is it just to stir up PASSIONATE Queenslanders like myself? :p
