It was in Sydney for about 20 years! When it was at Bankstown the centre would be decked out with poster prints of previous champions and banners with their names. It had a feel of real history going on. All that's gone now, including Bankstown Bowl.
But moving SPC around isn't necessarily a bad idea.
Castle Hill, and Newcastle?
If you're taking a taxi, you'll need a healthy wad of cashI'd be reckoning you're talking two hours...
i may be off base here but was reading the entry form for the melbourne international and the top 16 cut mens and 8 womens is based upon a minimum of one international bowler being in there (non resident of australia), does this mean that regardless if no international bowlers finishing in the cut for either division that 16th or 8th place will have to forego their finals spot so there is at least one international bowler in the finals? would hardly seem fair and am guessing this is not how it is supposed to look, but maybe someone who is helping with this tournament can clarify and perhaps the entry form rules be updated? be a bit rough for someone who finishes say 16th in qualifying for the guys to go from a $900 pay day to a $450 result because of a rule like this. Other than that the tournament looks good so far.
Funnily enough that's exactly what I just said over on that thread... I agree with everybody's interpretation thus farSection 1.5 states that "A matchplay final must be made up of the top qualifiers".
Unless I've missed something, it would appear that this stipulation goes against the TBA's very own guidelines for next year.
Grant, I'm still confused. The top 15 local bowlers plus 1 international bowler will make up the top 16, should there be no international bowler in the field then ALL 16 spots will be filled by local bowlers.
Perhaps there needs to be a slight re-wording, but this is the situation:
The top 15 local bowlers plus 1 international bowler will make up the top 16, should there be no international bowler in the field then ALL 16 spots will be filled by local bowlers.
There is no Aussie giving up the 16 position, because it does not exist unless there is no international bowler.
It seems less likely there will be an international field now, as the HK Open is on at the same time. The mostly likely international entry will come from NZ.
As to the TBA rule, the entry form was approved and an accreditation number given to the event.
