I have a related question...... Can anyone recommend a resonable bowling game on the market now, on any platform????

AMF have a bowling game on XBOX, but I would be in awe if anyone was able to get a pal version of it for Aussie systems...

My main problem with bowling games in general is that they are too much like the golfing games. Brunswick Pro Circuit is a prime example where the power/hook controls are pretty much the same as the Tiger Woods Tour series (as well as others) swing meter.

Wii has managed to come up with something that is almost spot on to being a realistic bowling sim, and that is why it is on my Christmas wishlist . Now all they need is a remote control that can adjust for weight and impart variable revs - and it's perfect .

What they need is a wireless bowling ball controller and a pillow with a rack of pins drawn on it, so you can actually throw a ball across the room and the Wii can measure hand position and angle of rotation and you can adjust the hole positions and size and pitch and I'LL NEVER HAVE TO GO THE ALLEY TO BOWL AGAIN!!!

The thing which I think will be interesting, even though it is a stupid kids game is that the hook on the ball. You can't just do a normal hook action bowling style and the ball hooks, you will miss your target all together. How I reckon they will work around this is (i'm a lefty) so you would move to the left and have to adjust the amount of hook you want, prior to bowling the ball.

Then if you can bowl it dead straight, from the left, and the hook will come in for you at the end. Cos it will be boring, just bowling straight balls all the time, but I'm pretty sure this is the only way to add hook in the game. The controller doesn't mimic your action, it only controls the movement of the controller. Be damn good if they make something decent and more realistic, than this kids garbage. But it's bowling, so...
