Country Cup 2006

Congrats to all winners - Warrnambool runaway winners in the Mens - lead by Captain Jason Way who averaged 234 for the 20 games. 18 pinfall wins from the 20 games was a huge effort! (I wonder if they backed themselves with our resident bookie at 15/1!)
Latrobe valley winners in the women and Warrnambool - winners in a very tight overall by just 0.5 points.

Huge scoring over the weekend , 1100's all around and even a 1200 in the third game by Shepparton against Bendigo (I think Craig mentioned something big was going to happen in game 3 - ah yes now i remember).

Craig said:
they are still living in the past, round 3 will be a reality check for these guys.

Chris Hamilton (Shep) 217.88 (16 gms)
Pat Fahy (Ben) 217.83 (18 gms)

Well done everyone -- look forward to hearing all the "post mortem" comments.

Congratulations to Warrnambool for winning the mens by a big margin, Latrobe Valley for taking the title off of the Geelong ladies by a smaller margin and Warrnambool taking the overall in a very tight contest. It was a great Country Cup with phone numbers being shot left right and centre. There were alot of high scoring very and very tight matches. The passion that some of these guys bowled with over the weekend was awesome.

On another note, how is everything travelling back home Gatsby, any news yet?

One more thing? How many people saw how cruddy Miss Courtney's socks were come monday evening? They were almost black as she refused to wear socks with thongs again with a fear of ending back on here. Well, you are still back on here Miss C. Sorry. Had to mention it.

Carmers - no baby yet -- still having contractions. Could happen today, tomorrow or next week - doctors don't really know.

Congrats to warrnambool men and the overall win and latrobe valley women on their win.. well done to all who made all stars in the mens and womens.. It's great to see very big scores were being bowled over the weekend....

Congatulations to Warrnambool on winning the C/Cup for 2006. Huge Effort.
Special congrats to Dean McKinnon, Rob, Lisa & Alicia Garioch for making the Allstars.
Looking forward to maybe participating or watchin next year.

With all the congrates and mentions of high scores, I haven't seen anything listed about the Latrobe Men, not enough "O" for them would be the answer. Oh well the Latrobe Ladies will carry them again

Well done to Latrobe Valley Ladies for winning, and well done to my little Skatie for bowling a 200 ave, (and making the AllStars!)
Not bad skatie - Five CC's for five wins. Maybe you're their lucky charm! (Two more will make it - SEVEN)

That is two Latrobe Valley women who have posted - and both have had a dig at the men ......... deserves a response i would say Woza.

It has been pretty quiet on here today. I have noticed a lot of people have slipped in and read the comments but not too many have posted - what's going on ?

Hey Gary you're right tooo quiet!!!!! I think we are still waiting to see what SUPER COACH Craig has to say, he has been one a couple of times but alas no comments as yet.....
I would like to congratulate Bendigo on the smooth running of a great tournament.
Congrats to Latrobe Women and Warrnambool Men on winning respective divisions and the Warrnambool Team on taking out the overall.

Great Country Cup
Have only just arrived back on home turf after what was a long and enjoyable weekend
Well done to our Ladies and to Warrnambool men for the individual wins. Also to Warnambool for the overall - Hopefully everything works out for you guys in regards to the bowl
As for the ladies hanging it on us :-#
No seriously they gave us abit of cheek but we helped them celebrate last night
And one special mention
DB - I was most impressed jumped out of the blocks with two drinks in the first four games. Only 1 drink in the next 18 ;) Well done Paige
Is someone going to post some of the photos that were taken on the weekend
Post some more stuff after I catch up on some more well needed sleep:sleeping:

To Latrobe Valley ladies & Warrnambool men well done on your win at cc. Also congrats to the Warrnambool the on taking out the combined, great effort. hoping you are still with us next year.

Thanks Woza, I excelled myself in the start and came crashing back down to earth!! I also noticed you too weren't doing a bad job of DB either!! lol

My costume was a hit (thanks Carmers) with everybody else who didn't have to wear it!! It was really hot, especially when I added the wig!! And I actually don't have any photos of me, such shame that is!!

I would like to congratulate all the winners, Latrobe women and Warrnambool men and women. It was a fantastic weekend as a spectator, the bowling was awesome!! Congrats must also go to the allstars (been listed twice already) you guys bowled well and deserve the praise. As do others who bowled out of sight and didn't quite make the all stars. There were a few that were close, maybe Gatsby will give us some more details when they come to hand.

I do have lots of photos of different people and the presentation so if you would like to send me a pm I will be more than happy to email them to you. If your email account isn't big enough let me know I might post them somewhere to be viewed!! Just playing around a bit with them. Fixing them up at the moment.

My favourite is of Matty Wines and someone behind him with his back to the camera with his hands starting to pull down his pants!! It looks like Motta from the photo!! You will be able to judge for yourself!!

The final congrats is to the Bendigo Bowl, it was a fantastic weekend with it overall running smoothly. For those concerned I have lost my voice (thomo is happy about that!!)

Now don't forget that the Country Champs are in Shepp over the June long weekend (just in time for my birthday) and us sociable people would love to see all of you here for a fantastic weekend of bowling.

I can tell you it was Motta without even seeing the photo

thought i better say something so here it goes, congratulations to

jason way, the best solo performance anybody is likely to see at this form of bowling ever

to warrnambool for winning what might be their last country cup, lets just hope that it isn't their last, if anyone ever wonders why i bag them, quite simply thats the bowlers that should be there every year, and thats the results they should be getting

andrew craig, for costing me $1 in the bet to whether he would drop himself, and of course not doing it

to me for doubling up that bet and of course cashing in, wheres my money rob??? :D

jason motta for proving that he was way out of his league to assume some responsibility

to geelong, the favorites once again letting me down in such a predictable way and in patches in such a predictable way, you should have stuck with the 10's or whatever it was i gave you at the start

to shepparton for the following reasons

1. losing :p
2. throwing 1200 against us
3. for missing my team record
4. for thinking you were walk up starters the second time we played

to latrobe valley for living up to their 40/1 odds, and well lets say you couldn't throw for crap, whether that be bowling balls, marshmallows or ****, everything missed its target and you's ought to be ashamed of yourselves, gees no wonder why your women are hanging it on you

to ray martin, i know our guys were cheering your last 3 shots as though you were on our team, a really shame you weren't rewarded for what was a pleasure to watch, consider yourself very very unlucky

to deano, for once again letting me pull you apart, this time in a world record 4 frames, i must admit, yelling "game over" in frame 4 was such an uplifting thing to me, at the time had been a pretty ordinary day

and second last of all to my guys, we had a real crack and came up short, other than warrnambool we beat the best teams, and now we know how to beat them, it will only be a benefit in the future, we were never a pushover to anyone, and thats all i could ever ask. in 12 months time i could be quite easily gloating at this exact time

lastly to my girls, you send me totally nuts, you's made me laugh so much, thank you for the hyper ventillating bag, and the support, in 12 months time everything is going to be so much better, i will be back, no matter how hard the old ones try to push me out;)
