Typically, in the stepladder that I've seen in the past each game use a different pair of lanes or alternate pair of lanes. The last event was an exception.
tend to disagree the same pair was used for the whole step ladder at the smaller geelong bowl when i bowled? i do agree it should always be different pairs for each match like the good old days of ATBA?

Vi, my comments were meant as objective discussion regarding stepladder finals per se. They are the only way when you have TV coverage, otherwise they serve no useful purpose. Another anachronistic item we inherited from USA bowling that needs dumping is "position rounds" in leagues and tournaments. They should go the way of the now defunct Peterson points system.
