I only started bowling less than a year ago. Bought an Ebonite Maxim plastic fantastic as first ball. Didnt know crap about balls then and not much more now. But I threw my first 200 with it, to get into a playoff, for the playoff to select a team to represent our town. In the next playoff I bowled shite with it but stuck out the last frame to get in by 7 pins.
Most of this time I have had a Storm Bolt that I got from a guy on this site. It was in really good nick and didn't even need redrilling for me, just different sized finger thingos. I tried to make this baby work but didnt know what the f#### I was doing really. Then one day I was at the lane practicing with the Bolt, and the centre dude who was coaching the juniors that were bowling that day, came over for a look. I said to him "how is a guy meant to release one of these things to get some hook on him". He told me to try (you guys know all this sh)t), pull your thumb just before you let it go and bring your fingers up to give it some spin. WELL, the Bolt spun down the lane and hooked like hell when it hit the dry lane. I thought I had it all worked out eh. Kept bowling strikes while stuffing around with different lines and went away thinking, "now I know how its done".
Came back the next day and it didn't hook nearly as well.
Couple of days later, bowling league and embarresed myself.
Thinks, (am an old dude and have faced adversity before you know, Something is not right here). To cut a very long story short, Now, I am hooked and have ordred a new ball that will suit our shite lanes better, I hope.
Well, Rychenroller, you did want to know
