Ouch jackool did ya know u can take legal action on that bowler
How did ya broke ur left thumb if u r a right hander
Well in regards to the ball on my foot, I never fully knew what happened, and even then I have heard 3 different stories on how it happened, so I can't actually blame anyone because of this reason
. Funny how no-one else was in the bowlers area, on our set of lanes, except me, as I was putting the names in for our side when it all happened. Well that is one thing I was told from a few sources. From my view point, as I didn't see anyone else down there, it was true. So legal action was always out of my mind.
As for my thumb, well that was a funny one. In my first year of bowling, 1994, I was bowling in my leagues (Saturday Juniors @ Keon Park) fun-presentation-day thingy. It was a case of the mc, "Auntie Pam" Young, calling out a "change hands for the next ball" thing. I was a right hander and my team mate was a lefty, so it was suggested by one of our teammates (Not sure who that was now) that we should hold hands to the foul line. That seemed like a fun idea so I was in for it, the problem was I was 14 and she was 8, a whole lot smaller that I was and she stopped short on the approach when she bowled, whereas I at that time went all the way to the line. When we had started our approach she stopped short and was low so I leaned right and jearked back, and in doing so I tightened my thumb in the 10lb house-ball and "Snapp" ball went flying back and up hit the roof and landed, ironically, close to my foot on the drop and rolled forward.
Fun as it was, I decided to be more careful if I ever tried left handed bowling again, which I had to do 7 years later when I quite literally screwed my right wrist. (a ¾ of an inch screw to be exact, right through the tendant)
Actually that reminds me of something else that has happened to me, when I was bowling left-handed. I had gotten to fingertip stage on my left and one evening in league at KP, I slammed the ball into the ground after releasing my thumb, but my fingers were still in the ball, which kept rolling. To make a long story short, I know it is too late for that, I bent both my fingers backwards to the extreme at the end joint, and I was taken, once again, to the emergency room. (3 times now from bowling accidents, some would probably say that I was accident prone and I would not argue with that)
