I have bowled same as James and in that order 256-279-300 for 835 at Milton a few years ago.

I've bowled 800 or better sixteen times. I shot my first one in 1969 when I had the highest series in the USA that year with an 847.

I bowled one on 13/3/08 - 290, 266, 247 = 803.

I also bowled 1037 2 weeks ago - 279, 288, 254, 216 (which is 821 for the first 3)

Twice in league (802 and 813) and once in a tournament (809)

Most 800 series consist of a 300 game anyways! I'd say 1000s are more frequent though.
