DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN WARNAMBOOL CUP IS?????

THANK YOU HEAPS. :scatter:

Just about everyone from last year l belive. The event was almost filled once qualifing was over last year.

"B" Sqaud was full
"C" sqaud was full
"A" sqaud had entries

I also belive that only 3 sqauds are being run this year. with 24 per squad max, as this is 2 per lane.

Look like being another great event this year, and to think not an entry form has been printed yet, and we are all keen to get thier.

Shows why this is one of our best events each and every year, as it is just one of the ebst weekends away. Lets hope that Victoria can get a number of these events running in the future.

Hope to see all in Warnambool in mid November.

Post from Ian Nichols about 2005 event

Possible events for 2006

Would just like to say big thanks to everyone involved with this event, particularly the tournament team and staff. Was a real pleasure bowling this year, a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. The new lanes were superb and with the kegel oiling machine, the lane pattern held up very nicely. It was a nice high scoring pattern, with a great mix of different players making the cut.

A personal highlight of the event was my 279 tie with Ashley Riley in matchplay, not something that happens everyday!

A special thanks has to go Mr Neville Vagg for sponsoring the event again this year, without his loyality to the the event a lot of bowlers would not be able to attend.

Thanks once again to everyone involved and I look forward to next years event

Chris Thomas

Once again this event has been a highlight on the Victorian Calendar.

I know it is one of the best events held in Victoria, that does not contain national rankings points, and really does have a great atmosphere to it. The entire event is run in good spirits, and all bowlers have a great time throughout the weekend.

A big thanks must go to Neville Vagg for his continued support of this event, as his continued support allow all of us to enjoy this event each and every year.

The tournament team and all the staff at the bowl, have once again done a great job in putting on this event.

The new lanes and Kegal machine did make for a new look final score sheet, with some very high scores indeed.

Cant wait till next year, to do it all over again.

It was another great year down in Warnambool this year. Always seems to be a fun event with a great mix of people. To Chris Thomas, congratulations on winning the event. You bowled superbly all weekend and truly deserved to win. Trotts, bad luck mate you were stiff not to make it 3 in a row but i think it was those damned 8th frames that killed you LOL! What was it 3 times you had the front 7 and got stopped in the 8th by those 10 pins and a little 8 pin as well.
Couldn't agree more with Lance about the scores. Last year i was the unlucky one to miss the cut by 3 pins bowling 34 under card, this year lucky enough to scrape in by just 1 pin (Sorry Wayne) and this year I was 101 over the card, so the Synthetic Lanes and Kegel have done its job. And it was good to see the lefties had a shot out there too this year.
So hopefully everyone can keep getting behind this event for next year and beyond because i can't imagine the Victorian Tournament Circuit without the Warnambool Cup. Hopefully those that do put their names down can make next time. Very sad to see so many names drop out within the last 2 weeks.
See ya's
Kelvin

:D An extremely big thanks to Neville once again. It's because of your support and that of the other sponsors that this tournament keeps on keeping on. I missed the cut by 1 pin and didn't get a chance to see you last Sunday and thank you, but hope to see you next year mate. Anyone reading this that knows if Neville has an email address please forward this to him or let me know his email address so I can thank him once again for his sponsorship.

yes wayne your right its a good weekend the drive to warrnambool along the ocean rd is great pitty i didnt bowl well enough you only missed out by 1 but next year you might make it by 1 i would have missed out on that good weekend if i had have sprained my ankle before that weekend instead of now shouldnt stop cricket balls with my feet well bowled wayne peter hammond

A great weekend of bowling and good company as per usual. It was great to see Hayden and Ashley making the effort to come over from Tassie to compete, they certainly made it worth their while by both making the matchplay final. Hopefully we'll pull a few more of the Taswegians to come and compete in 2006.

Trots you almost got that threepeat, a fantastic effort and you bowled your bum off as per usual. Chris had victory in his sights, there was no doubt about that, and he bowled magnificently all weekend. You'll have your chance to get back at him this weekend in Canberra.... Well done to Kissy for a fantastic third place, you are a machine... ;)

The stubborn corner pins were the only reason there were no 300s bowled, and the change from wood to synthetic has definitely made a huge difference in the averages as you can see if you look at the qualifying scores from the last couple of years as well. (on tenpin.org.au)

Most definitely the 279 draw between Chris T and Ashley was a highlight of the weekend for those watching, a great game with both bowlers going head for head on the strikes. Jason Way was the unfortunate bowler in this match who bowled a great game himself only to have two 279's shot against him.

My personal highlight was bowling my highest game ever in the last game of qualifying, a nice 266 which beat my previous highest by just one pin. The guys I was bowling with at the time, Matty, Burto and Steve were very encouraging and a great support throughout the game.

Even though I was well down the list overall, I would encourage more females to give the tournament a go next year, it is heaps of fun and one of the friendliest crowds you will ever bowl with. And with and entry fee of just $140 you are definitely getting value for money.

A huge thanks again to Mr Neville Vagg, without his support this tournament would surely have gone by the wayside...

See you all again next year.. :p :p :p
