tonx mate please remove me from the list as i'm not reday to enter something like this advise from my bowling coach and i need tons of practise under my belt until i enter something like this hopefully will be sometime in the near future i'll be ready

sorry to say it mate. but the only way to learn is to be there and bowl in it.. you will learn heaps and have a great day i really hope you re think your decission it will benifet you alot..

The only way you going to improve is practice and bowl tournaments is the best way of learning it's cheap entry aswell so you get your money's worth on a tough pattern. It's great learning curve.

Its a stepping stone! When you get small entry fees like this its good to go! It makes great practice. I went and did the Ballarat Gold Skins because it was a low entry and i bowled well, didn't win any skins, but i was happy to know i finished above the half way mark.
Practice makes perfect! So practice in tournaments so to prepare you for the next one.

Does your coach know its a scratch and handicap event?
I think this is a very good opportunity to gain some very good experience no matter what level bowler you are.

A couple more things.
I'll be down the centre this Wednesday, Thursday (Just for Sarah) and Friday from around 6:30 onwards helping bowlers adjust to the pattern. I am able to help with everything from ball surfaces and drillings, as well as lines, angles and adjustments. If you want to have a little edge before the event, I would definately suggest making your way down one of these nights, as it will definately be worth your while.
A couple of guys have had to withdraw from the event due to Dunn Shield roll-offs at Dandenong on the same day. I'm a little disapointed that something couldn't be adjusted, as the centre does have some great bowlers that I believe would have done really well in the event.
Boronia have moved their Dunn Shield roll-offs to 9am start, (Thanks Boronia!) to accommodate for the bowlers comming accross for this event. We WILL be waiting for you guys to come accross, and if you leave after the teams are selected, this shouldn't hold up the second squad at all! Give me a call if you can't make it so the event runs smoothly!
Due to the size of this event, I am looking at one more event this year. I will be seeking a couple of helpers for the next event, as the popularity of this one has made it a hell of alot of work! If you wish to be involved with these events moving forward, please either shoot me a pm, or have a chat to me at the event (after i'm finished bowling)

What the other bowlers have said is 100% spot on! These events are something that will give lesser average bowlers something to aspire to. There are Block Prizes too, so if you do manage to throw 1 great game in the 8 that you bowl, you are a chance to pick up some cash! I understand you want to listen to your coach, and I think that is an admirable trait so well done there! I am a little dissapointed that your coach can't see this as a huge chance to improve your bowling, but again, I respect his suggestion.
If you still want to make the trip down to meet everyone and watch the event, my offer of running down to the train station and picking you up is still on the table! I'm sure we would all love to meet someone as enthusiastic as you are about your bowling, and can predict that you will definately be a great entrant in future events!

The location of the bowling alley is awesome. There is a huge pool hall next door with cheap table rentals, cold beer and a great atmosphere. There is also a big shopping complex no more than 10 minutes walk accross the road.
There has also been a few pm's and a thread regarding the proshop. It will be fully stocked for the event. Ebonite have sent me a few balls for a special sale on the day. To improve on the already great priced specials, Drilling will be FREE, and including Turbo Ice Quad Grips also free of charge on the day.
If there is any special requests of balls before the event, please feel free to call me with enough time to get the ball in, but we will definately have enough gear to cover anyones needs!
Don't forget the raffle of the EBONITE Total NV on the day as well! All proceeds from the raffle are going back into the sports series moving forward!
