Tournament Averages

Hey everyone, I just wondering whether somebody out there would be able to answer some questions for me. I might be withdrawing from the leagues I currently bowl in and I was wondering about the questions below.

What tournaments would I have too apply for an tournament average?

Would my last highest average stand for 12 months in tournaments?

Would I establish a tournament average?

Is there any disadvantages by only bowling in tournaments and not leagues?

From experience you will not be able to bowl in handicap events without a valid current average after the end of the year. You will have to be able to prove your average for events bowled before the end of this year although they are not obligated to accept it as you are not competing in that league any more.
Scratch events do not require a league average but you will be required to produce a valid sanction card if requested to do so. You can simply pay for a sanction card and have the league listed as tournament.
