Totalbowling (possible virus) email alert

Gday all,

received an email from office@totalbowling.com.au for 'your password' with a zip file attached. It was blocked by hotmail, hence the reason for the caution.

Anyone else received this email? Graham care to comment?

Cheers!

yep, lots of these getting around from either 'fbi' 'cia' 'aol' and 'nasa' too, it'll be either 75 or 76kb with an attachment, chuck it in the bin....

Nothing to do with me - the email address is spoofed. Unless the from IP is 202.60.67.202 or endeavour.serverau.net then it has absolutely nothing to do with this site. What's probably happened is someone with a totalbowling.com.au in their email inbox got infected and now it's sending out emails with the site as the from address.

Another thing - emails only ever come from this with the admin@totalbowling or graham@totalbowling email address, and I never send attachments in emails unless you are expecting them. I also only send in plain text, not html. The server also has a virus scanning module so if the email is legit and passes through this server then it would never get through if there was a virus.

So in summary - if you receive an email from any address @totalbowling.com.au and it has an attachment - DELETE IT!

Yes getting the same thing. Delete the lot of 'em.
And that totalbowling.com.au one was one I didn't get, never usually read them anyway.

I've been receiving a lot of these at work and at home... I received one at work with the subject line of "Paris_Hilton_and_Nicole_Richie"... you could automatically tell that one was a virus haha :p :p :p
