After reading the tassie version, and with a good idea from Jen, who is the ideal captain from each zone, past, present and near future??

I was in the presidents shield team of 02 and i'd say Sam Fisher was a great captain, even though some of the team had the shits (i.e me) and/or were really tired, she picked them up and told them to get over it.
If sam stays on for her last yr next year, she will help all the younger newcomers out and i hope she bowls well.

Best NQ Captain

I was in the Shield Team for NQ for two years (1997-1998) and I would have to say that without a doubt that Jenny Newman (Mt.Isa/Townsville) was definatley the best girls captain that I ever had - she was well liked by everyone, and had an honest and down-to-earth nature about her. I had a marvellous time with her and our team (love those bible readings) *lol* and will never forget our time tobogganing together. My only wish is that I could've had another year with her as our NQ girls captain and aged out.

Love to all the girls from 1998 PS team - Kay Harris, Jenny Newman, Kym Nydrle, Becca Waters, Katherine Doran, Tara Tojnar and Lisa Lock.

NQ had a couple of awesome captains but as Stace said Jenny Newman .. the bible readings .. the business cards .. the icecream down the front of her shirt at Baskin & Robbins and who could forget the Tobogganing! definately a fantastic year to make a shield debut at for sure we all had so much fun! luv yas

Well, this year I thought both Cow and Sammy did a great job, Id like to them both as captains for Southern next year. Ive already said I think Chris would make a great captain for the Tassie boys. Id like to put forward a vote for Jess McGinty from Northern, I think she is a great person, who did a great job as captain this year. Another person I think would be good for captain is Scott Lachlan, he is a great guy, easy to get along with and really friendly. Matt Kanafa or Dion Alexander would be good captains for the SA boys but Im not too sure on the chicks!

There's a few I have in mind so this is what I have

NQ - Scott Lachlan (Didn't really say much to him but when I talked to him he was pleasant and showed great captain qualities on the lanes and what a shot)

SA - Matt Kanafa (He's the real deal and what a damn shot. Also sportsperson award and is intimidating to bowl against, great captain qualities)

Southern - Stephen Cowland (From what I've seen he's aggressive, shows great leadership qualities, is a funny bloke and is a great bowler, a very good captain)

I can't really comment on other teams or the girls but that's how I see it.

i know heaps of great people, but i have no idea what they would be like as captains!

but i'd say THE ideal captain was last years vic girls captain- Carly Allen
