TBA fails to live up to their promise again

Bowling Tragic
Well, it's an new admistration (really just a change of titles but same people in charge) and the TBA has once again failed to live up to one of their very own promises, as stated on the TBAL website.
Composite and Overhead Graphs will be posted no later than four days prior to the event
The tournament is now LESS THAN THREE days away. Where are the composite and graphs?

you may find, that since the rumours of peter cobourn oiling lanes to a bowler have come to pass, that the tba may not post oiling patterns prior to a tournement so people cant argue that it has been set up for a certain bowler.

just a thought

Wayne,

I am not sure if you realize that apart from Alex Popov everyone else is a volunteer and has higher priorities. I suppose a bit like the people here at Totalbowling. TBA do more than guard lane conditions, and if TBA do 100 things and only one of them is to your disliking then guess what takes your focus. I was going to do a search and see if you actually had anything positive to say about TBA, but i don’t think i would hold my breath.

After the rumors that spread though the bowling industry, it appears that TBA will not advertise anymore patterns for these events.

Gee "as the self proclaimed industry watchdog I'm sure that you are well aware why this pattern has not been posted. If you have access to this, why don't you post it here yourself."!!

Thanks to the guys that bitched up and spread rumours.

Ah well, back to working it out for ourselves when we get there, nothing wrong with that(unless you're one of those 'sport babies' who NEEDS to know to the 100th of a millilitre whats on the lane!!)

I actually don't think it's a bad idea. Go down there and work it out for yourself.. how many people actually know what it all means anyway? I doubt many. Sometimes it can be a disadvantage to "know" anyway..

does knowing the pattern really help you, i mean you get some insight but we all know lanes play different. And as a lane person myself id rather not show a graph because the amount of times you hear those comments about it being done a certain way for some makes me rather angry.

Most people know TBA staff and committee work for love, but I have to agree with Wayne.

If you are going to put these rules up in lights and take stands on what oil patterns go down for tournaments..then do what you say.

If you have a look at the PBA Regional schedule, the tournaments all the way till the end of July have the patterns posted.

Personally I think the whole oil pattern policy is a waste of time...what does it really acheive here in Australia. If you look back at our tournament history when centres did there own thing...the best bowlers at the time still won.

But of course if it's too lower the scoring, then maybe we better tell the PBA they have it wrong and get rid of their high scoring patterns?

I think it's wrong to not advertise patterns because inevitably people who know the patterns will spread the patterns amongst people they want to spread the patterns to. I believe it'll cause more of a problem to have the patterns kept away from peoples view
