In everyone's opinion, what state do you think is the best to live, in regards to life style ( cost of living, weather ) etc and bowling in regards to oportunitys to bowl in tournaments ? :D

Well let's see cost of living- Melbourne but depends where. Life style i would pick Melbourne again. Weather i would pick Queensland. For bowling tournaments would be Melbourne only cause most of the Youth events are hear and have 2 of the 6 majors.

Hmmm this is a tough one ..

QLD
QLD
QLD
QLD

Of course when I say QLD, I mean Brisbane :)

Seriously .. the weathers great, not as expensive as Sydney or Melbourne, and if you are a keen bowler there is almost something to bowl in every weekend with Flowers tournaments, Sport Series, AMF & Independant centre tournies. You will have a full calendar (and an empty bank account - unless you are winning!)

I would have to say Queensland. I always lived in Sydney and that was the hub of bowling and career but QLD always had heaps of tournies.

Now days the weather is fantastic, the people really nice and there is lots to bowl in. It's a great place to live ...

Definately QLD. Plenty of tournies to enter and the weather is generally very very good... :D

I can see alot of bowlers here that like the DRY!!!!!

Melbourne would have to be the best place to bowl, with quality centres like EFL, Altona, Keon Park and Forest Hill, it would have to be the premier city around.....

for once i'm actually gonna agree with tonx *shock horro*
Melbourne is great and all for of those centres are quality centres!

i like in Melbourne - if you like four seasons in one day THIS IS your place to be :p

but i would rather live in sydney or further up north to QLD - weather would be much better

cost-???
weather-qld
bowling-vic/nsw

im from canberra and im saying this, vic has gr8 centers and tournaments, and nsw has the same

for bowling - where else but Queensland???

Aside from the Qld cup, EVERY RANKED TOURNAMENT (adult - don't know about the littlies ;) )that has been held in this great state of ours has sported an average entry fee of $180 - minimum of 12 games qualifying to boot. Then you get events such as Twin tour and sports series, 10 games for $75 and plenty of cash. Prices like these encourage us all to bowl!

The weather of course, speaks for itself ;)

Broni

cost - I'll say melbourne because I live here, but that's only because I don't have a car so no money is going down the drain there!

weather - For bowling, Melbourne again. You're indoors!!! Who cares if it's raining or sunny! I don't like bowling in a hot centre, so we rarely have that problem. For living in general - NSW

bowling - Melbourne for ranked tournaments, but other than that, there isn't a lot around. Correct me if i'm wrong, but QLD seems to always have something on, with a reasonable turn-out as well.

  WOW first BrenH and now you.... Something has to be wrong with the planets alignment or something

I admit the weather is great in Queensland, but, I long for the long 2 - 4 day rain! To sit on the verandah with a coffee/beer with the cool breeze while enjoying my fav magazine/paper! mmmmmmmmmm :) I haven't enjoyed that for quite a long time now! Bloody Queensland sun!

I have been feeling a lil weird for the last couple of days.... must be the alignment of the planets! That's the only resonable explanation!

Actually not all of QLD's Centres have dry lanes! alot of them are starting to lay heards of oil down.

Would have to Melbourne for all, except for Tournaments.

Much more varitey in NSW & QLD to choose.

Melbourne really has the 3 majors, not 2 Chris.

Aus Open, Melb Cup, SPC.

3 smaller tournaments, just below the majors level, but thats it.

But hopefully next year, a full circuit will be up and running, of approx 8 events :D

Yeh i know there is 3 but i was talking about we have 2 of 6 super six events i forgot to put that in.. but thanks lance
Chris

I think it's a tie between Victoria and Queensland. For mine, Victoria has the best major events on the calendar, while Queensland has the best state-based tournaments. Whether is definitely Queensland, as is cost of living.
