'Highest Bowling Ball Stack Challenge'

How would we go at this? Has anyone ever tried it?????

This exciting challenge has been successfully attempted for the Guinness World Record in Los Angeles in 1998, where they stacked 10 bowling balls vertically!!

This time, they will try to establish a record for the Singapore Book of Records. Teams of two will attempt to create the highest stack at the Singapore International Open to walk away with S$3,000 cash. The preliminaries will be held on 20th and 21st of May and then the top 3 teams will move on to the finals to be held during the Opening Ceremony on the 23rd from 8.05 to 8.45pm.

Quite a few years ago when I used to play at Kedron, myself and a few friends had a number of attempts at breaking the world record with house balls.

Paul Lambert, Hamish Rogers and myself were able to reach 9 balls one weekend, however while picking up the 10th ball, the stack collapsed. Fortunately no-one was hurt! Since then we havent really been able to copy our feat.

Despite falling short, the whole process was a heart-pounding event and worth giving a go. It certainly draws one heck of a crowd!

Good times Bob! Thats was our first full on attempt too, after a bit of a discussion about which weights to use and where to put them. Maybe if i had been a bit taller back then, who knows what would have happened!

i remember when i used to work at the bowl we partly owned, on a saturday night after everyone had left i managed to get 7 balls by myself and take them down without them falling. i was pretty happy with myself
