Interesting since the 300 game thread was started was to find out more on bowlers statistics, so I will start this one.

1. Highest Ave in Qualifying and how many games

2. Highest Ave in Matchplay and how many games.

3. Highest Ave total tournament and how many games.

I'm interested?

I'll start...

1. I know Brenton Davy had a 237 for 16 games Perth Cup in 1991. (Mine was
only 219 same year. although I had 235 for 1994 Elizabth Open for 10 Games.

2. I had a 237 Ave for 19 games 1991 Perth Cup Matchplay

3. 1991 Perth Cup total Ave for 35 Games was 229.

Cheers

Tony

Not impressive... but here it is anyway...

1) 210 avg in qualifying over 12 games in 2006 NSW State Championships

2) Wasn't matchplay... but masters was 225 avg over 12 games

3) Tournament avg... 217.5?

Cheers

Hey Strop, was I in Perth in 91, must of being good on the left. I bowled at Blacktown and ave 251 for 10 games in qualifing, how ditched up were they. Frawls was bowling on the next pair to me. I said to frawls, watch this, grabbed another two balls out of my bag, both struck. It was pretty easy.

Steve, of course you were there in '91. I've got video proof. You played Bradford in the first match of the stepladder. Ian thought you were pretty easy!! Ha! Ha! Don't worry, I fixed up Bradford in the Semi Final before being beaten in the final by another left handed yahoo. (Davey) Doh!
Cheers, Tony.

Gee, how unusual to lose to Bradford. Send me that video, I want to make sure. How did you other two lefthanders get in front of me. I must of had a big night

I think my highest is 221 for 11 at the Hobart Masters back about 12 years ago, using an old Ebonite Gyro I shooting up 8-board all day.
Next best would be about 217 for 11-games, without shooting a game over 225.
I remember Ashley Riley averaging 246 for 7 on the second day of Rachuig Trials in Devonport this year, he was absolutely superb that day.
Also saw Ash win one of the Masters here (either Hobart or State) averaging 235 for the tournament.
Another good one I can remember from my Junior days would be in my last ever Junior tournament, Adam Johnson averaged something in the high 230's for 7 in matchplay as an 18-year old to street-the-field in the Under 21 Coke Classic at Moonah back in 1993, still rate that as one of the best displays of bowling by a junior I've witnessed - he was awesome that day - was using a Black Hammer from memory.
And more curiously, after he won that event, he walked into the pro-shop, grabbed his gear and trophy and walked out, never to roll another ball in tournament competition for another 11 or 12 years.
