To answer jessica's question....
I have done a couple of these over here in the states and they have a bunch of balls drilled with a variety of spans, with finger inserts (easily replaced) and screw in thumb slugs in a variety of sizes where the hole is drilled off-center so as it rotates it alters the span.
You can obviously use tape in the thumb to get the feel you want. Its not perfect but it gives you a fair idea of what the ball will do for you.
Overe here you sign up a few weeks before hand and provide your hand specs and it took them about 5 minutes to prepare each ball.
Not sure if its the same over there but the above might help a little...
