Fixing Future Tournament & Roll-Off Dates in Qld

From time to time on this forum there is an occasional comment about TDs, Centres, Sponsors etc getting their act together regarding tournament and/or Roll-Off dates to avoid the many clashes.

It was suggested, - not by me but by Jason P - that we try to convene a meeting sometime later in the year where all organisers can sit down and discuss their proposed dates for the following year.

There are numerous conflicts that could be avoided if the different parties get together and table their preferred dates.

Most of the Majors use the same dates from year to year and if the Qld movers and shakers get together possibly several weekends could be freed up.

It would'nt be too hard to arrange an evening meeting perhaps in September,
what do others think?

I have spoken with Lawrie Hill (Seniors) and Colleen from BATBA and both are enthusiastic about the idea. It would be good to get TQ along too. They probably have an extensive calendar.

I had in mind a week day evening at around 7.00pm. Or would you all prefer weekends? Was thinking first or second week in September.
We can book a room in Sports House and provide food and drink. We would also have access to a phone conference hook up if we need to get someone from NQ online.

For those of you who are interested the date of the meeting has been set…it’s Wednesday 12th September @ 7.00pm in the Main Meeting room at Sports House…

I urge those of you who run circuits or a Major Events in South Qld (seniors, Adult, Youth and or juniors) to come along or make sure you have your Tournament information at the meeting so we can get all these dates sorted and prevent them from clashing…This is a great opportunity to have your case heard…

I am sure a representative of the Adult committee will also be there and I will bring the TB calendar with me so we can get it sorted before we leave the meeting…
