Judging by the compact and muscular nature or your hands, you're likely to need a grip that "looks short" by quite a way to enable your hand to reach into the holes properly while wrapping all that muscle mass inside the grip! I see this all the time with guys who do physical work.
Probably a good idea to avoid the so-called "lifter" end of the grips too. (Known as the "tissue damage" end in my pro shop.)
