Hey everyone,
Well done to everyone that rolled off in the first stage of East Coast trials, it was great to see so many people giving it a shot and so many familiar faces.

I am sure this year is going to be big since it is at home i'm sure we will have twice as many supporters as last year and I no we will keep the cup where it belong.

Good luck to everyone for the next stage, and i hope to see everyone next weekend at sunshine.

 Tiff

Nodz thankyou very much for the advise you gave to me on Frida nites and the Roll offs i took it all i and now my bowling is starting to improve
I might have to pack the last stage in as my Girlfriend has to have a 30 week Ultra Sound and i really want to be there for her the big problem is she lives in Queensland and the scan is on the 29th sept good timing so next year i might be bowling in the Q.L.D team not sure in what we are doing.

Peter

That's not a problem Peter.. Hope it really did help..

Hope all goes well with ultra sound..

Hope to see all the bowlers tomorrow night at the trivia night..
Everybody needs to support the M.T.B.A to help support us bowlers for our tilt at all 5 cups..

With only a week to go before the last trial there is no time for nerves or regrets. What has happened so far in the trials can't be changed. The only thing to focus on now is 8 games or 96 frames of bowling to go.

For those who are rolling off for the first time I suggest you try to use the following advice:

1. Don't come to the rolloff with preconceived ideas of a line you must bowl or ball you will use. Stay open minded and your chances will improve before you even bowl a ball.

2. Don't dwell on what the people who are in front of you are doing. You can only control your own bowling not theirs so don't waste energy or focus on them. All your focus should be on your own game. If seeing standings sheets during the rolloff will affect the way you bowl avoid them. If you can't avoid them refocus on your game as soon as possible.

3. Acknowledge good bowling from your fellow bowlers, and encourage fellow bowlers who are struggling. Enjoy your bowling. This will help you relax and can make the difference between carrying and not carrying.

4. Don't be afraid to make a move or change equipment. If you are thinking change then you should go with your instincts. Don't second guess yourself. If someone who bowls similar to you is bowling well and you are not then observe them for a frame or two to see if changing to their line will benefit you. Make the decision after only two frames don't waste time.

5. Ensure you drink and eat during bowling. Do not let dehydration or hunger effect your game. You have enough other factors to worry about that you can't control. So to let things you can control affect you is just plain stupidity.

6. Every pin counts. Unless absolutely confident you can pick up a split or washout go for the maximum count. This is even more important after a strike or string of strikes. After 25 games it is surprising how many times a bowler misses a team by less than one frame. Most often they can see that they woul have been in front if they hadn't failed to go for the best count after leaving a split. Don't fall into this category.

7. When requiring a clutch shot play the shot that has been the most effective for you on the day. Before bowling the ball ensure you relax your body. Breath in an out and shrug your shoulders. Try to avoid any tension in your upper body or bowling arm.

8. If you make the team be gracious and ensure you commiserate with those you may have just kept out of the team. Think of how you would feel if you were in their shoes. The situation may be reversed next time.
Show you are a worthy team member.

9. Make note of any problems you have during the trial and work on these in league or practice to eliminate them from your game. Whether you make the team or not remember you always live to bowl another day.

Only two days to go until the final rolloffs are here. Good luck to all who are bowling on the weekend.

I hope my previous post benefited some of you.

Too bad you ain't going to go past me Lee. See you Saturday.

Terry, Terry, Terry,

Just hope that you are fit and healthy come the weekend, as I don't want you to have any excuses :)

Good luck to all this weekend,

Lee
