So how does your centre have their Dunn Shield team chosen ? Some have qualifying (like using your highest league scores) roll offs and finals. Like at Forest Hill you can't use your league scores to qualify. Qualifying in a way of getting every bowler whos interested and they have to bowl 8 games to make the cut. Whoever makes the cut will bowl the finals to make the team..am i right Chris & Frosty ? Forest Hill bowlers wil know this one.
Michelle feels this is the best way so that no one can complain or whinge about not getting a chance to represent Forest Hill :D
PS as for me i think the Highest League Qualifying is the best ;)

I think we are going to run it like like year. you qualify in league using 6 games and the top 16 go thru to the final cause michelle dosen't want to run it over to weekends so there will be qualifying in league and then a final of 10 games to see who make the team i think thats how michelle is going to run just like last year. will keep you all up to date with it.

Chris

Hi Vi,
The flyer from Nicole & Russell at Boronia shows that the top 20 men and top 16 ladies will roll-off (over 8 games) on 2nd July.
Qualifying will be in conjunction with league scores at $5 per attempt (no limit on number of attempts) from 1st May to 2nd June, with a final squad appearance 12th June 7:00pm $25 per bowler.
Good luck to all
Cheers
Michael

Hey Michael,

You're probably right. I was glancing over the sheet so didn't read it fully. Sorry about the incorrect info. Are you giving it a go? At least the timeframe gives me some leeway to get back to track.

Vi

Tonx is correct i was working the front counter during the roll off.
Injuries have kept me out of bowling almost entirely for close to a month now and although i'm just about right to bowl regularly again it will probably be another week or so till i could handle 10 games.
Its a shame but sometimes thats the way the cookie crumbles (mmm cookie :eating: )

Brendan, maybe you can try at keon park as they dont normally have their rolloff until June/July :)

A couple questions for the Northcote Team.
Grant Eadie qualified did'nt he?
Didn't he make the team?
Cause pretty sure I seen his name on the qualifing board last week with a 571 series.

Maybe Grant Eadie wants to qualify at the DITCH at Forest Hill ;) What say you Grant ? Atleast Brendan had a great excuse :D
Common mate, tell us if you bowled or not ;)

To all the Forest Hill bowlers, Dunn Shield qualifying format being looked at is qualifying using your league scores over 3 games not 6. Multiple qualifying allowed with Final sometime in June(not Queen's birthday weekend).
One idea being considered is top 16 to advance to final with the remaining 4 spots to be decided by way of further qualifying games. Not set in concrete as yet however.

Darren.

No Alex, I didn't bowl in the Northcote roll off,

As for saving myself for the Forest Hill ditch, those workmen have been busy filling it in, then blow torching in dry. Its not going to be easy to make the team this year.

If some bowlers ego's don't get in the way, and we try and put the best team on the lanes, Forest Hill can actually finish in the top three this year.

There certainly alot more talent in the centre now. Try some of these names, in no particular order to form part of the team!

Bell, Rollo, Jordan, Sullivan, Tonkin, Frosty, Castle, Halifax

Hmmm. how many more names could we have added if the chaddy boys still bowled wednesday night!

Maybe I better rush over to chaddy and get some games up! I am sure Leo and the crew would be happy to have me.

Chaddy have there roll off on the 28th of May just letting everyone know so will be interesting to who turns up.

Chris

PS as Grant said Forest Hill will have a strong team if some of those names roll off.

I thought Rollo was retired making a comeback is he.Very smooth style from the one time i watched him bowl in one of the majors about 6 to 8 years ago roughly.Cheers Ralph.

Vi,

Boronia have a lot of good bowlers, and it will be very hard to make the mens team this year - roll-offs will be very interesting!

Go Boronia!!!

See you soon
Michael

Grant...

Even if the Chaddy Boys still bowled Wednesday nights, it would not guarantee us a spot especially alongside the names you mentioned.

But if you came to Chaddy, join a team and pre bowl your life away, we would certainly welcome... Ha Ha Ha...

Chaddy came 3rd 2 years ago and 2nd last year. With so much talent in centers like Forest Hill and other centers, Chaddy needs help. TERRY, you still bowling Chaddy?

Leo
