I have been asked by several bowlers "Do I have to send a Deposit and if yes then why?".
In regards to the deposit, yes, everyone will have to pay.
Im am sure everyone would agree that certaain bowlers should not be favoured (ie no deposit) over others.
I realise that there are bowlers out there that have been very loyal to tournaments, however, the number of bowlers pulling out in the few days before a tournament, has gotten out of control.
These people nominate early, filling up the more popular squads. Some bowlers are then not able to attend because the only squad that meets their needs was already full and they quite rightly express their anger when they see that bowlers withdraw from the tournament. The other factor is that the Prizemoney is also effected when the bowlers withdraw or dont show at all.
If things improve over the next couple of tournaments, then in 2007 I will start to reward those regular bowlers who do attend tournaments, with the ability to nominate without deposit.
