This fantastic carnival in upon us with the first squads starting tomorrow at Cross Road Bowl. For those who don't know about the Holt Carnival it is tournament open to all bowlers and is graded so all can compete in singles, doubles and teams. There are representative teams from all zones within Australia who then complete against each other to find the Champion Zone.
The Classic Team Challenge (on Thursday and Friday) is a great new concept open to teams with bowlers with a average under 199 (for the men) and 189 (for the ladies) and is scratch. The Restricted Challenge is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and is a handicapped event. The interstate teams have already started to arrive and the Tournament Team is up and running.
I am really looking forward to the John Dobson Memorial which is the welcome squad and official opening of the Carnival starting at 6 pm on Saturday night at Cross Road Bowl. It will be awesome to be in a 32 lane centre with 5 person teams across the house and knowing how the Holt bowlers enjoy the competition the atmosphere will be electric.
An invitation is sent to all bowlers especially those from around South Australia to come along and support the bowlers and teams.
