BOWLARAMA DAY BREAKER SKINS 28TH APRIL

Chris, it was a great night and thanks for you guys for putting events like these on ... From my perspective though, I think perhaps next time you could get a bit creative with the prize fund and perhaps only have 10 games and not 12. It is a fun event but to have to continuously score 250+ to cash makes for little inducement to return for the next one ... I think the 'donators' need a bit of thanks for turning up to events like these ... Especially us women!! :) thanks again ... Breakfast was great!

Oh and just so you know ... I have given it some thought this morning lol ... Based on similar numbers to last night ... Say 25, $125 entry, 10 games, $150 per skin, $25 for second. Based on your lineage of $4.90 per game ... That would leave roughly $150 in the kitty for a few ad hoc awards like highest averaging bowling, secret score, highest female game, highest game for averages 180 and below etc ... Just some food for thought :)

I think 12 games is good!!!! Not often ppl get to bowl 12 games. It also test your bowling fitness, if ppl like myself struggle to bowl that many games , maybe ppl should go and work on their fitness, like I need to do. . Gives 2 more ppl a chance to win.
don't fix what's not broke...

Hi Guys

Here are the results from last night skins. Thanks to all for supporting our event and sharing the night with us. Thanks to Jason for his banana pancakes and special thanks to girls in cafe for a top breaky.

Great numbers for the event at 25 giving each skin a payout of $160 first and $30 for second. With numbers growing each event we hope to also raise the kitty and have further payouts including womens divisions. At the moment personally I agree with mega300 totally. It is great to have the chance to bowl this amount of games and compete with other bowlers we may not all regularly get to compete with. It also gives our league bowlers a new aspect of the game and the level that they are at outside their comfort zones in their own centres week in week out. Anything to encourage growth in our sport is a good thing.

Sometimes it is not always about the money!!

Annette

Well I suggest you both re-read. My suggestions have nothing to do with fitness and everything to do with you maintaining and perhaps (heaven forbid) increase your numbers. I'll remember that this is only a forum for agreeing and not suggesting in future.

Precyse, I think you have taken it in the totally different way, than Both my self and Annette are getting to,
That's correct u didn't bring up fitness, I did as a valid point for the reason I like the format. That is my argument for keeping the format, as well, bowlers can see how lanes break down, Most bowlers r interested on learning how to play breaking down lanes, u didn't bring that point up either. Most bowlers would of been trying to find another line or trying another ball once their realise their couldn't get 1st or 2nd place. I know that's what I did. For people with new balls it is great, u learn what ur ball does, and even better there was experience ppl with some great knowledge, like Sam Remo and Jason Doust who always willing to give their suggests to improve your game.

So instead of going down the path u did and throwing in the towel, keep giving suggests not every one of them will be accepted and yes ur ideas will be ripped apart by some pretty
experienced and inexperienced ppl, some who know what their talking about and some have no idea, that's for u to decide, don't get dishearten because ppl don't like ur idea,

Thanks Glenn
always handy to put ur name to your profile....
getting defensive and having that attitude, will just upset ppl and cause's personal attacks

that's the reason forum is here to give ur idea's , let's see what other's think, their may disagree with me, so be it, but their have to have a good argument specially if their werent' there, but ill be back with more opinions in future regardless

I am happy to get any feed back and listen to any constructive criticism. I would like to see a womens division but we would need at least ten to get this going. Hi average would usually give more money to the people that have already won.
At Wetherill Park we run monthly handicap tournaments, this is one for the scratch bowlers or those trying to compete at this level.
Again thanks for your good and bad comments.

Chris

I would like to put my two cents worth.

The tournament is a great idea. I would have competed in this one but i didn't have the money at the time. As i was saying to chris if that pokie win came in a bit earlier that night i would have bowled lol.

I hope another will be held very soon.

Also id like to thank Jason for allowing me to pick his brain and watch him. I did learn a lot off just watching and alot of his comments after a shot went high or through the nose (i actually like the ball that looked great, got into the back and then straightened up)

Also there was 10 different winners. So the money wasn't just going to one person to line their pocket all the time.

Well done again Chris, Stuart and the whole bowlarama team for putting on a fun event.

Glenn ... My name is on my profile ... Samantha Edwards ... And my comments again if you re-read thanked and commented on how enjoyable the night was with a few suggestions as food for thought ... Regards.

I would like to say also a big thank you to all who came and supported the event and did not bowl. It kept us all going through the night to get through to that 12th game that seemd do far away in game 7 at 3am in the morning!!! Much appreciated and hoped you all learned something as well for you own game.

Believe me doing 12 games at that time of the morning is so different to doing it in a real tournament situation when you are needed to do up to 16 games in some events.

Big thanks to Chris, Stuart and the Bowl-a-Rama crowd. The event ran well and was good fun. 10 winners is a good result for a skins, showing that there were plenty of opportunities. I was subtly changing stuff all night to get there in the end. Balls, speed, angles, releases. Throwing the big games was a puzzle and some pairs proved quite tough. And apologies for throwing one through the face to beat you Chris! That was unintentionally rude of me. But do enjoy driving Annette crazy with that Pink Panther!

Michael, stop playing pokies and you win every night! They're just a club-imposed tax on members!
