2009 Vili's Super league

Dave Kuhn started tonight with a big 300 and Dave's 5th perfecto, against Greg Keep 246

Perfect ? - well we won't mention number 11 but the rest were spot on

Spoke to soon last week regarding Dion the one with a 1,000
This week saw 5 people go into the last game with a chance of a 1,000. The only one good enough was Conor Quail

Conor Quail.......... 246, 258, 236, 268 = 1008
Greg Keep............ 246, 254, 254, 242 = 996
Dion Alexander..... 248, 254, 255, 205 = 962
Louise Ingoe......... 276, 217, 237, 212 = 942
Michael Mittiga..... 205, 224, 287, 219 = 935

We are now at the half way mark and we have 17 people average over 200 and a league average of 198.29

Louise Ingoe was again one of the best bowlers on Monday night with a 953 series and again had a chance at a $500 series.

The best the fella could do was both our top two with Dion Alexander & Tony Stoppel having a 933.

No bowling this Monday due to Easter

Still no recent 1,000 series with Dion Alexander again just missing out on $500 this week with a 984
Games of 238, 245, 268, 233 against Frosty's 864
Also this 984 was not enough to take lead in the super league and still trails Tony Stoppel by 1.13 points (or 63 pins)

The gap closed right up after Tony Stoppel was defeated by Greg Keep 3 - 1 and 2 good series of 972 - 875

247, 281, 219, 225 to Greg and 211, 234, 228, 202 to Tony
Greg's 281 was looking pretty solid but after 10 in a row the 11th shot left a very ordinary "Greek Church"

Elsewhere - Zac Krebbekx got the wobbles in the last game 258, 208, 225, 163 ? against Peter Jones
Dave Kuhn had a good series of 238, 237, 183, 258 for a 916 against David Moate

Some good close games last week but nothing spectacular to report
Both the Drummond brothers had a good night with Phil 864 & Dave 831
Whoever added up Tony Stoppel's sheet came up with 937 it was actually 973 ?
Our only regular lady in Louise Ingoe had a 913 - hopefully she will get some other ladies for next season
saying that sub -Leanne Gorostiaga had a nice 258 game to pick up Tony Long a $10 hi game prize "hint hint ?"

Tony Long snuck in one high game of 279 to get a $10 award last week
BUT his other 3 games of 248, 257, & 230 where enough for him to walk away with a bonus $ 500 and a 1,014 series

Strangely enough this is only the leagues third 1,000 series after 18 weeks - beats the heck out of 2 seasons ago when we had more than 10 and some people were claiming the conditions were too easy ??

Well we still have a league average of 198 but it just appears the pressure of stringing 4 together is a bit high at the moment ?

Louise Ingoe also had games of 244, 235, 287, 202 which our computer says is 968 but someone wrote it on the sheet at 978 so Louise you miles off it !

Regards

Greg

Good results by just about everyone this week
Louise improved on last weeks 287 with a 289
Dave Kuhn 899
While our leaders in Dion Alexander and Tony Stoppel are still up there with 850's but both are starting to miss their averages and the bonus points

While renovations and air conditioning makeovers start at the bowl in the next few weeks it should only initially effect bowlers at the top end of the house who may have to bowl another night or after the normal league at the low end of the house where there is no second league on ?
More news on this soon

Greg

Good to see the old green Quantum still knocking over pins.

With 6 weeks to go the scores across the league took a step up this week and the league average is now 199.54 for 2464 games

Some notable results this week in no particlar order

The ever consistant Tony Long 864
Ashley Warren playing against Dion Alexander 874 series each and Dion just ahead winning 2 games drawing one and loosing one
Dekland Morda 893 winning 3 and loosing the other by 1 pin
Chris Mowat 920 series against Matt Schoessow 860
Graham Simpson 959 against Peter Jones 895 including their 3rd games which was a draw with 267 each !
Tony Stoppel 909 against Louise Ingoe's 709 (awaiting results of swab ?)
Greg Keep 888 against Alex Klass 802
Geoff Barry 878

Interesting week with Glen Martin hitting form with a 928 series against Hamish Modra

Frosty had a good 876 against Matt Bernhardt

Louise has been swabed again with a 761 against Phil Drummond

Dion Alexander is looking dangerously like loosing his offer to bowl naked, if Greg Keep gets past him by season end.
In round 17 Dion was in 2nd place and was 28 peterson points in front of Greg after round 23 last night it was 9 points with 5 weeks to go ???

League average dropped slightly after last night and we still have 14 bowlers looking like getting Vili's $100 bonus for a 200 average.
Conor currently injured will have to bowl the last 2 week to qualify for the award which needs 70 games to make the grade.

Greg.

Editor note.....Lucky it's not greg going naked.....talk about saggy!!

Hi all
Sorry for the delay this week but had a few issues that distracted me (got made redundant on Wednesday) been sniffing around for a new job

Anyway back to bowling had 6 series on Monday of 900+ which the top score was Ashley Warren on 958 and Dion had a 954

Top games were Dion Alexander with 280, Ashleyt Warren 279, Greg Keep 268 and Peter Jones 264 (Peter had to get one game off Ashley)

News on the bowl is that the renovations which started last week will not effect us this season which finishes on 19th July

BUT we will loose lanes the following week for the start of the new season in which we have a number of new bowlers also wishing to join the league.

Could you all please send me back a email to superleague@chariot.net.au with your intention of bowling next season or if any new bowlers can also please confirm .....

There is a possibility that we may have to go from a 6.15 start back to a 6.00pm = let me know if this will effect you - this is not decided yet but just an option

Regards
Greg

Hi guys

Here is the standing sheet for week 27 so if you can remember your scores from the positional round you might be able to work out where you finished
BUT there were some upsets on Monday night so there might be surprise or two on Monday night when the results are announced.

Currently we have available 26 lanes and we have 25 bowlers so anyone interested needs to call me straight away to get a run commencing this Monday night.
Maybe get one of the ladies back like Kerry Ann to give Lousie some competition ?

Regards

Don't forget we are bowling Monday at 6.15 so if you can all get there by 6.00 so we can have a quick meeting etc

Hi all
Please find attached the final positions and prizemoney for the 33rd season of the Vili's Super League.

A league average of 199.87 for 3,136 games isn't to bad at all

105....... series of more than 900 were bowled by members (subs not included)
4.......... 300 games were bowled during the season
4.......... 1000 series for the season received a $500 bonus each and was down substaintailly over season 32
11........ bowlers qualified for the $100 bonus for a 200 average over the minimum 70 games

Season 34 will only have 24 bowlers due to renovations at Cross Road but we are looking at some changes for 2011 which will allow for season 35 to possibly have 36 players as we have a couple of people keen to join who were not able to come in this season and it was considered too difficult to try anything new during the renovations.

Regards and good luck for season 34
Greg
