Everything is settling down now - averages are all in place
Tony Stoppel is back up on top shooting 230+
Dion is trying to keep up (had a 998 last week - nearly scored $500)
And last season's winner Brenton Manning is mid field
After one of the new recruits not turning up we still need someone to fill the last spot. I though Phil Allcroft was going to take it but haven't been able to find him so if anyone knows of someone who would like a spot let's try to get it fixed up as soon as possible.
Also attached is a new lane draw - for some reason the first one has left 2 dates in August out so I've just redone but what happened is that we would have a week off for the Oct long weekend and then come back and do the positional round.
As we had a number of requests from both seniors and possible Rachuig players about the national we have now slipped in 2 weeks off for these nationals and we now come back and have a couple of weeks before the position and television round on Saturday 31 October.

Week 5 and things are hotting up.
Ashley Warren started the night with a great 300 and a series of 1016 bowling a 300,214,254,248
but Ashley shared the points with his opponent Zac Krebbekx with a 933 series and 248,245,190,250
On the lanes next door Tony Stoppel was giving our sponsor Vili a bowling lesson with his own 1016 series with 244,257,248,267
The league average after nearly 500 games is just over 201
Please note that Louise & Carlos are post bowling next Monday before the league so scores in here are estimates.

Week 6 tonight saw some great games and nearly a few more 1,000 but just falling short
By the way just to point out a few people keep their own figures just to keep our computer honest but the scores didn't add up to well on the sheets this week so check your figures ???
Tony Stoppel 970 on the sheet but you really got 980 so must be happy about that, only 20 pins off $500
Tony Long 953 on the sheet against Tony Stoppel, you actually got 933
Louise had 918 on the sheet against Joe, you actually got 938
Some good games didn't get even close to the $10 for each high game

Well Dion Alexander nearly put his name to 1,000 series tonight but a slight case of the wobbles in the last game cost him the 26 pins he needed.
Other notables saw Brenton Manning pop back with a 920 and 4 wins over Jason Turai
Tony Stoppel finally felt the burden of his 242 average with 3 wins over Tony Cottrell and a 853 series but no bonus points

Week 9 saw our 6th 1,000 series for this season going to Louise Ingoe with some nice shooting and possibly being unlucky not to have a 300 too
Games of 277, 217, 279 & 246 for a 1019 and $500

Also attached is this week 10 with some very ordinary scores by many and some very oily lanes and patchy conditions on some pairs. Let's hope it is fixed soon or at least made nearly consistent from week to week ??

Nothing major to report except that the lanes are still proving a pain for many of the bowlers
Hopefully these will soon get back to some sort of consistent standard ???

Well things were pretty tough night
Only 3 bowlers beat their averages and the league as a whole dropped 1200 pins on average ?
Tough too good also for our left handed sub Mr Geoffery Barry who bowled a very nice 1012 series and being a sub - gets "Jack" for it
Should have signed up when you had the chance fella ?

Dont recall offering any advice.
Stated a fact,
the weekend before numerous people said Geoff struggled at there ATBSO practice session where they had 48 feet of oil. As Geoff bowled 1012 Monday night, I guess he didnt have the same problem, & I guess they didnt oil to 48 feet, which is exactly what I said 2 posts back, so dont read into posts what isnt there.
Everybody knows Monday nights at XRD bowl is a ditchfest.

A few bright lights this week with 6 people managing to bowl their averages.
Best of the bunch was Ashley Warren 962
Also Mat Schoessow came in to sub for Jason Turai and must have liked the lanes with a impressive 934.
Tony Stoppel still leads with a handy margin over Brenton Manning with the next 5 in a fairly tight bunch. But the leaders have stopped pulling away from the group and Brenton Manning has narrowed the gap on Tony.

Well things looked up a little across the league tonight as it was the first time in 8 weeks that the league bowled to it's average which is currently 197.54
Not spectacular by any means but with scores dropping across the league for 8 weeks in a row it was becoming frustrating.
The lanes are not back to their best, as the condition was still mixed across the house but the thing is the lane condition itself did hold up this week where as in past weeks it has deteriorated after only on or two games and the moves many had to make were often dramatic.
Next weeks games will be interesting with 4 of the top 5 playing each other in the centre of the house..... lets hope the lanes continue to improve and a good show will be put on

Well the big clash between 4 of the top 5 places turned out a bit of a fizzer with Louise Ingoe breaking a bone in her hand a arriving in plaster.
The other match between Tony Stoppel and Greg Keep ended up at 2 each but this was enough to give Brenton Manning a chance to draw closer, and with Lousie on the sidelines Greg's 896 was enough to move him up to 4th with Ashley Warren also moving up.
Vic import Joel Lovegrove joins the league next week taking over the position that Phil Allcroft couldn't continue with due to work commitments.
