Bowling Tragic
I must have missed the announcement. Could someone please give me an expalnation as to why the K & K Classic was made a double points tournament?

Wayne,

I don't know exactly why, however it was marked as double rankings since at least January, and I think it was when the 2006 Tournament Calendar first came out on the TBA website.

If you have a look, NSW Open at Mt Druitt is also being allocated double rankings points.

As to the actual reason why, I do not know. Extra incentive for people to travel I guess!

On Edit:
PS - This is Easy Tiger (Tim) not Feral.. forgot to sign out of his account.

The double points were allocated because the lane condition put down for this tournament was the same as the U.S PBA condition................oil to 40 ft and from edge board to edge board

Don't quote me on this..........

I believe that Nationally ranked events that have seperate Mens and Ladies divisions in the 'same' tournament are designated 'double rankings' (as approved by TBA).

These tournaments are suppose to draw the bigger numbers and offer a carrott to people who don't travel as much to earn some 'extra' points in return for good bowling.

I'm a not a big fan of it but hey, I don't make the rules, I just bowl by them....
