Why the pro's are that good

For those that missed it, check out Parker Bohn III's last 10 games of the Regional! 243-245-269-251-276-289-269-246-265-259{title match} That is a 261 average, and worth some "special ink".

Irrelevant on the pattern or the ball thats some pretty amazing bowling.

That's great bowling from some or most people consider the best left hander in the world at the moment.

But why is he so good, why are all the pros so good?

I believe that is the hard work, the bowling on the fairest patterns in the world, week in week out, it would do something to your game, IMPROVE IT!!

Admittedly some of the PBA patterns are easier than others, but the pros are great at slicing a board at the arrows and hitting a box at the breakpoint. You have to be if you want to cash over there.

Imagine them over here on our tournaments, we have area most of the time and they would be averaging 240+ every event....

Just look at Cara's three peat at the Australian Open every year she averaged very highly. She bowls on the PWBA and does very well too, she has a great natural talent for the game.... And i dare say watch out for Tim Mack at the Perth Cup... he can throw high games in quick succession.

If we had the hard patterns in every tournament everyweek we would improve, its just a matter of time to learn.

Anyway enough of my Mumbling........ hopefully seeya at a full field in the Melbourne Cup.

From my observations at the US Open, I believe the pro's are THAT good for 3 reasons......

1. This is their living. As a result, they are at it all the time. If they aren't that good, then they don't last that long. There are plenty of "pro's" who aren't that good as witnessed by their VERY substandard performances on a dead flat condition.

2. They develop a mental toughness that has to be seen to be believed. The good pro's are very mentally attuned to the task at hand, again because they are oput there every week, having to adjust to different conditions, houses, climates, time zones etc.

3. They have the best available assistance at every tour stop with great coaches like John Jowdy, and the ball company reps who are in general very knowledgeable and can assist the players in equipment choices, setups and line decisions.

Having said that, I saw nothing at the US open to suggest that our top few players, with 6 to 12 months experience on tour, couldnt be competitive on the tour. It is a matterof a few minor changes to games and developing the mental toughness to deal with the weekly grind.
