Where is the best lane condition ???

J

johnny rotten

i will try again , i am just wondering what people's opion's are on where the easiest and most consistant lanes are ??

i

i like frankston and boronia as i find them very consistant ,frankston more as i find it higher scoreing

Never like to talk much about easy lane conditions as different centres suit different bowlers.
As for consistency, any centre with a Kegel is clearly going to give the most consistent pattern from 1 end of the centre to the other, and on a day to day basis (sounds like Narre Warren is good at the minute, can't wait for Altona to open!).
I bowl at Werribee which is a great centre, Ballarat which is laying down a consistent and challenging pattern at the minute and Forest Hill which can be a bit patchy but still scoreable if you keep your head.

agree

yes i do agree with you about forrest hill , i have never boled at ballarat or werribee but i will be bowling in the super skins on australia day so i can see what there like but i have heard they are nice lanes

Well what can i say Forest Hill is Ok but sometimes can be very easy to score on and sometimes not thats the same with chadstone at th moment there laying a pattern that is consistent but it's not that easy to score u have to think bout it i have bowled at werribee i haven't bowled there since 2003 but that is before my shot changed after junior nationals at forest hill. but i would say boronia is easy to score there after bowling adult natonals for classic cup.
cheers chris

P.S thats my Say on this topic. hey graeme or nat i will in ballarat sometime soon better be worth it.
cheers

question:- why does everyone constitute a good lane condition as one where it is easy to score. When comparing lane conditions why doesn't anyone compare the amount of oil that is down on the lane. Boronia and Frankston are easy and high scoring because there is no oil on the lanes. No-one knows how to lift a ball these days, or the people that can have had to start throwing helicopters. When all centres start putting reasnable amount of oil down on the lanes then and only then can we start comparing the comsistancy of lane conditions

Do you bowl at boronia? I bowl there on friday nights and i find it to be very oily , and i do not a bad job of lifting the ball i do not throw a hellicopter shot thats for sure .
And i think the amount of oil on the lane does not change the fact that the lanes are consistant yes there is no oil at frankston but it is always the same to me that is consistant :!:

yes i have bowled at boronia, i bowled league there for 4.5 years and worked there for 4 years, i averaged 223 when i finished bowling there. i think i know wot boronia is like.

I have also bowled at Boronia in a couple of tournys and my average there is about 30 pins higher than my home centre. I wouldnt call it a better centre because of this. What happens if a boronia bowler bowled at the centre i bowl at and they averaged 30 pins below there boronia ave, are they a better bowler than me or is there average too high. So which is the better bowling centre????

i would think that if a boronia bowler rolled 30 below ave at your centre it would mean there is a big lane difference because you have stated you bowl better at boronia, as for being a better bowler ,no he would have to bowl over his boronia ave at your centre to be a better bowler .

If anyone can find a centre with a decent amount of oil on the lanes in Victoria please tell me!!!

Best condition on a fresh shot- Greensborough or Mooroolbark,

easiest shot- at the moment telephone numbers are being shot at mentone, but werribee seems to be the high average centre around.

Nicest centre (look, design, general shot) would have to be Forest Hill. Its nice and spacious, sometimes puts a ditch out, other times nice lanes to play.

The only problem I have found with most amf centres is the size of the backends. Also known as 'free hook' it helps the 4rev-a-shot 'bowlers' too much.
