Where have all the bowlers gone!!!

Hey all just wondering whats happened to bowling in W.A i havent been bowling in about 6 years and I cant believe the changes to the State teams and Juniors. wheres harty, muir, ladlow, fraggs, mrs fraggs, ball, kury, skups, Phelps,lewis, and the rest. Just looked up the scores for rachuig and i thought it was the juniors team apart from seeing Ian jones's name! LOL thats some funny stuff. Take care all

If its anything like when i made rachuig, if people in the team didn't like you you got the blame for everything that went busy, in the end I had to leave the state to get away from everyone.

im a mum now of two 2 boys aged 5 & 2 there are my life
i havent bowled as i said before for years now but imiss it.
iv been living back with my dad for a year or so helping him
as mum passed away, but i was living down in waikiki rockingham.
i just couldnt believe the change in bowlers, when i looked up the
scores for rachuig the only guy i knew was Jonesy and the
only woman i knew was brenda kirkwood. Hope your still going strong
and mayby catch up some day

Yeh Married for 3 years now living in Queensland, Tazzie is just a nickname that has stuck with me. just bowling, I am hurt my arm again thinking of bowling left handed but still not sure what to do.

Yes alot of us have walked away, its a shame but there is nothing to bowl for now and bowling centres dont really care about the people who do bowl for a purpose now anyway. It might be a little tempting when the Midland bowl gets built, if ever.

not interested in bowling for state teams and big comps. Oh well you

as always WA bowling keeping its interbred qualities strong lol

Andrew nice to see u still at least get on here and keep some interest in the sport yet another good bowler who could have been something more

i'm afraid to say thou Leigh as Fairlanes closes you'll find alot more will probably retire from our great sport

not that it'll be any great loss but my boots have almost starting collecting dust, bowled 1 event over here and probably will bowl in NZ's last Super 7 tourney but if & when i come home i wont be bowling in WA anymore, wood like to bowl perhaps SPC each year to keep in touch wit some old mates but that'll be it

Yes it has been a long while!! I catch up with Matt and Lewis and Waz every week, though Matt has been transfered to melbourne with work.
I loved bowling for my state and bowling Gold cup even if i hadnt picked up a ball in 12 months and now that the system has gone back to seven past the post who knows as Rachuig is the holy grail.

No not married or have kids, as ive gone into partnership in a business and that takes most of me time.

Sorry to hear about your Mum!! Apart from that how is everything your end?
Definitely all of us will have to catch up

i still love the sport and still have the aspirations to bowl and win rachuig. Who knows hopefully someone can fill the void left by fairlanes.

You will be a huge loss if you walked away, especially helping people improve to the point of getting to that level of bowling tournaments and getting the numbers up and also socialising with everyone no matter their status in bowling

Ill never forget my first rachuig trials when i was a nobody and still am mind you but you and Tom Kury were the main reasons why i made it as you both helped me even though you were both trying to make it and concentrate on your own game.

Hay Leigh, Jess here (ex NT rep). Still living here, got married Nov 05, no kids yet, no time as my partner works away.(6wks away, 10days hme). Well just getting back into bowling -a painful journey as i broke 5 bones in my right hand 18mths ago. I'm going to give state a go this year, so should be a laugh.Sorry to hear about your mum, ****.
