Whats so bad about a 296???

Still fairly new to bowling, so drill me at will....

Not going to mention any names as 'apparantly' this is really bad, but tonight when working at the desk at Fairlanes, I watched a certain bowler throw a 296! Emotions where runnin wild at the 11th strike, my co-worker - Mark, (only been working a month with me, and never bowled before) screamed "YES!" out the top of his lungs, everyone was cheering the bowler on, and he left a 1, 2, 4, 10 on his final shot. Now I asked Leah Hall if she was going to announce the high score over the PA, but she said "no way, you know how bad it is to choke like that??" Well... I'd be stoked with a result like that... plus, although I woulda just missed out on the grand, still would have picked up $200!

Anyways, thats my 2 cents for the night!

well it is a great score but it is just embarassing especially a top bowller doing it but if some one like me done that they would of just said i fluked the the 11 in a row and shot a karl shot down for the 12th but michael it is he stuffed up the last shot but really it aint that bad

with regards to the 296 game . please folks lets not lose track of the fact that this is the 5th highest game ever recorded in the history of our sport . tough to bowl 11 in a row anywhere.

Just amazed the mentality of people thinking that Michael would be embarassed. He would be a little annoyed with himself perhaps, who knows go ask him


Perhaps he felt he threw a good shot and it caught a bit more oil, leaving the wash out isnt that far away and as Steve said the 5th highest achievable score is a great accomplishment, theres not many around to have had the front 11

Having only just found out it was me ol' mate MM I had to have a bit of dig at him but in all honesty I would give anything to have the front 11. Having been close a number of times it would be nice to have anything in the 290 range. As my 2 esteemed colleagues say having the first 11 is a great achievement and slotting the 12th aint easy but MM admits he was a bit peeved at not going all the way but was a little lucky on a couple of shots near the end. I think Leah was a little harsh. Baron :wink: :wink:

296!?! what ya complaining bout, there have been plenty of other stuff ups, 1 being my close mate Paul Gifford with his 295 leaving a greek church, but 1 i cant 4get was Brenton Davey with a gutter ball on the 12th, i mean dont worry there have been plenty worse 12th shots then that.

anyways, i guess u would have 2 shoot the shot 2 really know how it fels, well just my thought.

hey at the start of the year i shot 296. left the 2, 4, 8 ,10 split i was happy cause it's a pb so everyone's different with how they react
