Whats in the bag(and this time...why?)

This is the future!!!
Ok, you see this post on a lot of bowling forums. This time i'm taking it a step further. Why did you get the stuff(or keep the stuff) you have now? I'll admit i have an arsenal that looks like its been chosen with a blindfold and a dart board and its more good luck than management that it works. How about everyone else?

It's always been kinda hit and miss i think. So you want to know what i have, hmm, Splash (hard case), Pirana /c (dead, core's a bitch :x ), Rhino Pro Black, Aftershock, Primal Rage, Messenger Ti, Ebonite Pantera and a Mass Chaos. I tend to stay more with high RG reactives because i havent really had a major need for a proactive. My one dabble into the proactive world was with the mass chaos (when they were the next big thing), it was a great ball, it was the longest and most controlible ball i have ever had, got it resurfaced and then it changed to a steady ball that would cover alot of boards and situp very well. Now it's pretty much dead (all hail tec death), only thing it is good for is guardian or scorched backends, any oil and you might as well be throwing a house ball :D Havent bought anything new in quite a few years, there doesnt seem to be a need to really, good ball maintenance as well as being able to throw a few revs (yeah not a whole heap but it will do) seems to keep me going back to the old stuff :)

I own the old turbo x(recently got it) i got that because I have seen what the savage does with that type of vore in the ball so I went on a hunt to find the orignator, and I am glad i did it hits like a truck and is one of the most controlable and predictable balls I have thrown. also i have the v2 black and v2 particle, i got the v2 black off my brother cause I needed a ball for heavy oil(tho the drilling didnt match that) and because he couldnt do anything with it, so i threw a few games with it and I was in love with it, it is now my favourite ball and currently trying to gain another one to replace this one. I have never seen a more versitile ball ever! i got the particle version for those times with carry down or heavy oil and it is exactly the same as its black brother. both of these balls are fantastic and I will never go back to using anything else. i lastly have the savage which has quite the predictable roll and hook, plus the hit is so reliable, I have left bugger all ten pins solid with this ball. Got this one because I saw a lefty bowling one and thought that it looked like a good ball.

I also have a grey wolf and a optyx got them because I needed dry lanes balls but also cause i was a nut for any of the wolf series and was trying to collect them all. and the optyx i got it for dry lanes but also cause it is a good ball, if looked after.

that's my big speel

Hmm let me see. Well I have all EBONITE gear :D :D :D I have the Ebonite Pantera, Ebonite Savage Pearl and Ebonite V2 Particle. Of course I also have a hard case. I got the Pantera because I saw it and loved the consistancy of roll on it and stuff, good on medium oil too. The Savage Pearl I got because I wanted a ball for dryer lanes (not bone dry), and as the Big Hit says...it hits like a truck, leaves very few corner pins. The V2 Particle is great...I love it. It is good on heavier oil and has great hook and roll. Hits sooo well, I just love it. It's so consistant. I think the Hard case explains itself pretty well...

That's MY 2 cents worth

Slightly Off topic, What did you get your pantera drilled at? and have you had a resurface yet?

Firstly I wouldn't worry about the drilling...I am getting it redrilled in 2 weeks by Brando :D :D :D It needs it. I have had it resurfaced yes, I thought it had stuffed it at first but it seems to be fine now...so yeah. Great ball though.

Yeah i wasnt really worried if it didnt fit you, iam more interested in the layout. I had mine drilled rev leverage (basically a 3 x 4 layout), with the balance hole in the positive thumb quadrant 6 1/2 inches from center grip line through the CG. I just wanted to compare it without another person to see what type of reaction they are getting out of the ball.

As for the resrufacing, out of the box it was a big hooker, first resurface (was a light one) it changed to a down and in ball. Resurface again (full one back to 1200gritt) and now it is back to covering plenty of boards. Kinda weird, havent changed anything in my release, it seems to be the ball.

I think my drilling was pretty similar to yours. Yeah the ball is more of a down and in for me now but it is still a great ball.

ill have to agree with TIMMEE here with having all ebonite balls......i start my attack with my recently purchased APEX ADDICTION......this ball is awesome on really fresh heavy oil......thats y i got it....next would have to be my APEX REFLEX...i got this ball before i got the addiction for heavy oil and is very predictable and has a nice heavy roll to it...next is the crazy looking TPC WARRIOR....i got this ball because i wanted a polished coverstock for medium to heavy oil....this balls is really good on big back ends because it doesnt hook too early and just keeps on going then finally hitting the break point and does left hand turns.....after this is too much to handle i have my SAVAGE PEARL....great dry lane ball.....predictable and doesnt hook to much and it hits like a truck and hardly ever leaves 7 pins and 10 pins....now i got rid of my dry dry lane ball which was a revolution rev up simply because it wasnt ebonite......  but i had an old apex reflex which i had drilled negative and polished to buggery........this works well for me as it handles burnt out lanes very well and still hits like a truck....then of course is my plastic......

my two cents worth

i own all ebonite balls except for my spare ball because its all wierd looking which is a columbia white dot.
my first heavy lane ball would be a my Apex Intesity, this ball is great for almost any lane condition and hits like a bloody astroid.
my next ball would be the Ebonite Tiger and this is one of the best balls i have ever owned, its great with carrying and it is really smooth and predictable i bloody love it. this ball is great for medium oil and maybe dry lanes.
my next ball i would then roll down (or might not) would have to be my Tornado blue/purple sparkle thing, i originaly brought this for dry lanes but after finding out it has a lenght of 4.5 out of 10 this is useless unless it moves about 5 boards i have also been able to use it on 60+ units of oil. This ball is also smooth and nice roll but is VERY unpredictable.
so theres my couple of cents worth so yeah
