BEEEEEEEEEAVER
About half an hour ago I recieved the sad news that junior bowling in Queensland and the Gold Coast espeically has lost a good friend in Marie Friske who yesterday passed away aged 74 after a long health battle.
Marie's involvement with the sport went all the way back to Cheveron Bowl at Surfers Paradise when her Daughter Andrea was junior. She remained involved in the Gold Coast Junior association for over a decade after her daughter aged out.
Over that time she was Senior Vice Presdient of the GCJTBA, a selector for the junior rep teams and on the tournament committee of the long running gold coast junior intercentre (now known as the Ron Greenup Intercentre).
Marie was a tireless worker and would always be the first one to arrive and the last to leave at any tournament whether it was an Intercentre or the annual area championships.
In the mid 90s she was made a life member of the GCJTBA and is also a life member of the Ashmore Assoication.
She was a lovely caring lady and will be sadly missed.
