F
Funky Chicken
Twas the night before Burdekin
And all through N.Q,
Bowlers were thinking, "Three Thousand",
Of that I assure you.
There'll be the foreigners
led by Brando and the Greek,
They pretend their here for a good time,
But it's the money that they seek.
The local contingent, are as strong as can be,
There's Ang, Sam, and Frank, Dunny and Rob "The Sock" Buckley.
There's plenty more, who'll do the best that they can,
And please don't forget the little fat man.
In God we trust, and North Queensland we live
To win the three grand, what we wouldn't give.
Well I better go to bed and rest my weary soul,
And dream of my mega revs, smashing the hole.
A parting thought before I go,
The winner of the Burdekin, I already know.
He isn't very pretty, and he bowls like a subby
But to win on the weekend, my money's on the teletubby.
Good luck to everyone and see ya there
Tubby.
PS My new book of poetry entitled "Fat Men Can't Rev" is available at all good book stores.
