We are starting to see more casually scheduled events, and sometimes when applying for official accreditation there appears to be little or no consideration given to existing events.
These days anyone wishing to stage an event simply makes the announcement and publishes an entry form regardless.
I think it’s now time TBA stepped in and reserved some of the dates for the established majors. By reserved I mean the refusal to issue any accreditation for what would be considered inappropriate or adverse scheduling.
Some of the existing majors also need to take a long look at their own dates, sometimes these events are so close to each other that bowlers wishing to compete in them need to make a choice unless they are fairly well heeled.
At the same time the extreme number of ranked events and the ease of obtaining ranking points also needs to be reviewed.
Or am I the only one who sees it this way?
